Silicon Mechanics Showcases Enterprise-Class Software-Defined Storage at OSCON 2013

As a Seagate Cloud Builder Alliance partner, Silicon Mechanics leverages technology and expertise from Seagate, which offers a great variety of enterprise-grade hard-disk, solid-state, and hybrid storage technologies, enabling them to customize infrastructures based on unique capacity and performance needs.

Silicon Mechanics relies on Seagate enterprise SAS hard drives, with speeds from 7.2K to 15K RPM, for fast and reliable storage. Seagate sales representative Louise Weidner will be at Silicon Mechanics booth to discuss the very latest in new technology from Seagate.

Silicon Mechanics also congratulates SwiftStack, Inc. on its launch of SwiftStack private cloud storage created for todays applications. Silicon Mechanics is proud to announce that it provides hardware integration services to SwiftStack, and the two companies are working together to design solutions and collaborate on customer deployments.

On display at Silicon Mechanics booth will be zStax StorCore 104, an enterprise-class, software-defined storage solution based on industry-standard x86 hardware and built on ZFS, which provides open, unified storage management. Industry experts Steve and Tommy Scherer will join zStax product manager Tony Vetter and a team of Silicon Mechanics engineers and specialists to demonstrate zStax and discuss how it can solve storage challenges.
