IPEVO’s Wishpool Celebrates Six Months and 1,150 Wishes Come True; Ed Tech Initiative Puts Technology into More Teachers’ Hands

Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) June 24, 2013

It started with the notion that today's teachers deserve to be empowered with technology which can help them do what they do best: teach. After six months, the Wishpool program has provided over 1,150 teachers in multiple countries with complimentary IPEVO ed tech products. And the program shows no signs of stopping as it continues to provide teachers and their students with a richer and more rewarding educational experience.

IPEVO is a designer and manufacturer of technology products with a specific emphasis on education. They have enjoyed unprecedented success with their iconic line of affordable document cameras, such as the Point 2 View and Ziggi-HD, and other products. According to IPEVO's CEO Royce Hong, the company's Wishpool program which officially launched in January 2013 was a way to give back to the educational community which had embraced the company and its vision of low-cost, high-value tech.

"Quite simply, Wishpool came about because we believe every teacher should have access to affordable technology which can make their jobs easier and more productive," explained Mr. Hong. "We asked educators to share their stories about how technology could assist them in their classrooms. The flood of emails we received from passionate, hard-working teachers all across the United States and around the world really showed us that the right technology can make a huge difference in the lives of teachers and their students."

To date, IPEVO's Wishpool has received over 1,900 tech "wishes" and has been able to fulfill over 1,150 of them. Selected teachers have resided in six countries Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Finland, Spain and the United States and 42 U.S. states. Here is a small sampling of teachers who have put Wishpool products to use in class:

Holly Berriman at Endy Elementary School in Albemarle, North Carolina, uses a PadPillow Pillow Stand to support assistive technology for her students in wheelchairs.

Students in Angie Godbout's South Elementary School class in Mooresville, North Carolina, use the WS-01 Wireless Station to stream math word problems which are then solved on iPads.

Wendy Comstock's second grade class at Stone Creek School in Roscoe, Illinois, used the Ziggi-HD USB Document Camera to project a baby chick hatching from a shell during an egg incubation project.

Art teacher Jennifer Impey recently demonstrated Vincent Van Gogh's unique painting technique for students using iPad and the Point 2 View USB Document Camera at Edward-Knox Central School in Russell, New York.

Music teacher Norbert Stachel at the Iconic Music Academy in New York, New York, makes use of the X1-N6 Internet Conference Station to conduct teaching sessions with teachers from around the world.

IPEVO's Wishpool program features ongoing open enrollment for teachers who can share their technology wishes and stories at no charge. Selected teachers receive complimentary IPEVO technology. Wishpool may be found on the web at

IPEVO designs and sells innovative products to enrich today's connected lifestyle. We recognize the immense potential of new technologies to help people create, teach, learn, and inspire. Two Chicago Teachers Remix Music History with iPad Technology. Interactive Listening iBook Chosen as #1 Editors Choice by Apple

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 13, 2013

Interactive Listening announced today the launch of an ingenious new approach to music education with the release of its Interactive Listening iBook, recently named by Apple as the #1 Editors Choice in all categories of textbooks.

Interactive Listening is the brainchild of Pete Carney and Brian Felix, music educators and jazz musicians in Chicago, who were tired of the dead-end approach of using traditional textbooks to teach music. Instead they created a compelling iBook (interactive book) for iPads that remixes education with technology. At last, music history is fun! said Vandercook College of Music President Charles Menghini.

Created for digital-savvy students, Interactive Listening features Hollywood-style graphics, interactive 3-D instruments and computer games. At the same time, the iBook includes interactive educational content spanning 35,000 years of music, with sounds from every continent, from prehistoric cavemen to Beethoven to Coldplay. Ive never seen anything like it. Jennifer Foxx, President of the Phoenix Music Teachers Association.

In its early release in select markets in the United States, Interactive Listening is winning rave reviews.

Its thorough, and beautifully conceived, said Barbara Freedman, author for Oxford Press.

This book changes everything for education, not just music, said Mike Lawson, executive director of technology in music education in Nashville.

This book is the next step in education. Thanks for paving a way forward, Jay Berckley, music director at the Village School and TED Conference Speaker.

The Interactive Listening iBook was designed for schools that are replacing traditional textbooks with iPads. The self-published digital title is priced at $ 14.99, ten percent of the $ 149.99 textbook price Carney and Felix paid for a comparable textbook in college.

The Interactive Listening iBook is available immediately on the Apple iBookstore for downloading at $ 14.99, and available in eight countries, including the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

About the Interactive Listening iBook

Music Educators Carney and Felix sought to create a more relevant, current experience for their students with Interactive Listening.

We used the tactile experience of gaming and visual graphics from Hollywood movies to help music teachers in high school and college compete in the digital world, said Carney, Listening to classical, jazz or Tibetan music can be an entirely fun new experience if youre receiving instant quiz feedback about your listening skills. We discovered that students had a blast playing musical games, such as dragging and dropping parts of a symphony into the right order.

Carney said students are more engaged and drawn into their new interactive way of conveying the drama, history and elements of music.

Instead of reading about the great composer Beethoven, we created listening homework for the digital world, said Carney, We found that students want to discover music, express themselves and test themselves, not read boring biographical fillers and factoids. The Internet is full of information about when Beethoven was born, but that doesnt teach you how to understand his music. We believe our interactive approach instantly brings home the impact of music to our students in way old textbooks never could.

The Interactive Listening iBook features:

Game Beats Parents and Teachers at Handwriting Instruction

Alkmaar, the Netherlands (PRWEB) December 13, 2011

Boreaal Publishers thinks its high time for a new approach to handwriting instruction. The need for one is high; in the United States and other Western countries, handwriting quality is deteriorating. Boreaal says that LetterSchool, the educational game it just released, can provide better instruction than parents or teachers.

In LetterSchool children between 4 and 6 learn all about letters and numbers: writing, counting, phonics and more. It is a universal application for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The makers have invested heavily into high-quality graphics, effects and animations at a level not easily found in educational apps for this age group. LetterSchool is using an entirely custom-built, full-featured OpenGL-based 3D game engine. Young children work magic as they write letters and numbers with sparkling candy, squealing tires, cuddly animals, whistling trains and humming lawn mowers. The wide variety of games captures the childs attention and keeps young players practicing their letters and numbers, over and over again. At home, at school, in the car and everywhere else, children can learn at a comfortable level and at their own pace.

In the app, young children practice each letter or number in four steps combining different learning approaches. They first play every letter and number in the silver level, then play them again in the gold level with greater challenge. To put their acquired skills to the test, players write their very own letters in the final free-form writing game. This extensive practice in two distinct levels ensures childrens letter knowledge takes permanent root. LetterSchool makes exclusive use of visual information to demonstrate the letters: American studies indicate that visual clues are easier for a young childs brain to process than verbal instructions. And visual interaction is exactly where mobile devices are very well suited for.

At home, parents rarely know how they can best help their children learn to write. At school, overfull curricula leave little room for handwriting lessons. Moreover, those lessons often make less than optimal use of the available time. There are several reasons for this. Many schools consider handwriting skills a lesser subject. In studies, many teachers indicate that they received poor handwriting instruction themselves. The quality of LetterSchools instruction is constant and independent of the person, place and time. These are a few reasons why LetterSchool provides better handwriting instruction than parents and teachers.

About the creators:

Boreaal Publishers and formed a select team of specialists for the LetterSchool project. The contributors have decades of combined experience in education, publishing, software development and computer graphics.

You can install the free lite version, which will allow you to reach the gold level and test-drive the free-form writing game quickly. You can also request a promotional code to install the full version. Feel free to download our media kit containing high-resolution artwork and background information on LetterSchool.

A Spiritual Teacher’s Guide to the Power of Thought

A Spiritual Teacher's Guide to the Power of Thought

Rome, New York (PRWEB) March 24, 2007

Robert L. Vanwaldick's A Reversal of Thought: A Journey of Awakening is a spiritual guide meant to challenge everything readers believe they know about themselves and their world.

Businessman Robert L. Vanwaldick found his whole life changing when he began reading the writings of the great mystics Baba Ram Dass and Carlos Castaneda. As Vanwaldick began to dig deeper into the texts, he began to realize that his previous thinking about life had been wrong. Everyone, he saw, is really a spiritual being who creates his or her own world by the power of thought. Like the best-selling book The Secret, A Reversal of Thought suggests that anyone can establish a new and better reality simply by monitoring negative thought and implementing happier feelings.

Written in clear, pitch-perfect prose, A Reversal of Thought shows how man can solve problems like racism and war simply by believing in the oneness of all mankind and visualizing positive outcomes. Vanwaldick explores the two realities that mankind lives in -- the one man creates and the one that is truly there -- and he suggests ways for everyone to discover the difference.

Deeply spiritual and utterly inspiring, A Reversal of Thought: A Journey of Awakening is a transformative guide that will change the way readers see life, illness and even God Himself.

For more information or to request a free review copy, please contact the author at Rlvan @ or visit the author's website at A Reversal of Thought: A Journey of Awakening is available for sale online at, and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
