American Real Estate Investors Academy Radio Investigates Virtual Outsourcing

New York, New York (PRWEB) December 29, 2013

The American Real Estate Investors Academy radio show conducted a live interview with Elsa Oden of Virtual Office Staffing. The American-REIA website now offers virtual assistant services to the public.

Virtual staffing is a modern answer to an old business problem. Entrepreneurs work to grow their business. At a certain point, the successful business owner will grow the business from a single person start up to a company that needs employees. Hiring the first employee is a big challenge to a start-up company. This is also true for any small business when it chooses to expand by adding staff.

As a company grows, the owner must decide when to expand the workforce. This is one of the most critical and dangerous decisions in the evolution of any company. If the company expands too quickly, then they run the risk of going broke because the revenue can’t support the company payroll. If the company doesn’t expand quickly enough, then it will lose business.

In this interview with the CEO of the Academy’s preferred vendor of virtual staffing services, listeners are informed about the basics of virtual staffing. Also covered in this program are some of the tasks that small business owners can outsource to VA services, and the reasons that many small businesses have chosen to go this route. To add real employees, a business must commit to providing space and computer equipment to the new hire. Virtual assistants do not require any of these capital investments. Tough economic conditions, strong competition, and the looming implementation of Obama Care all favor virtual staff over traditional in house employees. The biggest revelation in this interview is that scalability creates a very large competitive advantage for the virtual employee over the traditional employee. Virtual staff members can be employed as much or as little as the business owner desires. One example that popped up during the interview was that of a business owner who goes on vacation. If the business uses virtual staff, then there is no employee cost during that time. More traditional businesses have to pay for an employee even if there is no work to be done. Virtual staffing is only a cost when the virtual employee is actually doing work for the company. There are no vacations, coffee, or bathroom breaks on the company dime with a virtual employee. According to Josh Caldwell of Caldwell Holdings LLC, a Pittsburgh real estate Investing company, "My home buying business in Pittsburgh would never be able to function at the level we are at without the use of virtual assistants."

The radio interview covers all of the benefits and pitfalls of dealing with virtual staffing or virtual assistants. To hear a playback of the recording in its entirety, just follow this link to the real estate academy’s radio archive page.

Real estate investors are no different than other business interests. The typical real estate investor starts of as a sole proprietor. Then the successful investors grow and add staff to handle marketing and administrative functions. The goal of every successful real estate investor is to run a business on autopilot. Adding virtual assistants is the safest proven way for investors to expand. That is why the American Real Estate Investors Academy is now offering virtual staffing to real estate investors and other entrepreneurs.

Stevens Researchers Develop Cognitive Radio Based Dynamic Spectrum Access Wireless Communications

Dynamic Spectrum, LLC, a new start-up commercializing cognitive radio technology from Stevens Institute of Technology, has been awarded a $ 150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program. The grant gives a boost to Stevens efforts to commercialize academic research and development.

Dynamic Spectrum is building on a comprehensive Stevens solution, funded by the National Science Foundation and National Institute of Justice, for cognition-enabled dynamic spectrum access (DSA) wireless communications which allows intelligent, efficient and secure access to underutilized parts of the radio spectrum or spectrum white spaces. It has the potential to transform the multi-billion dollar global telecommunications market, leading to more efficient cellular networks, interoperable wireless public safety communications, low cost rural broadband connectivity, and infrastructure for robust mobile video applications.

The Dynamic Spectrum team consists of the inventors R. Chandramouli and K.P. Subbalakshmi, Stevens professors from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with Dr. Vijay P. Kumar as the CEO. Kumar led networking research at Bell Labs for more than 20 years and brought products such as the ATLANTA ATM chip set and PacketStar gigabit router from the research lab to the marketplace. They formed Dynamic Spectrum under the auspices of the Stevens Office of Academic Entrepreneurship (OAE), a pioneer in taking academic research to market.

These researchers have distinguished themselves as pioneers in the wireless radio communications arena, said Stevens Associate Provost Christos Christodoulatos. We are proud to support their efforts to make more efficient use of the radio spectrum.

"Our technology will enable smart, opportunistic access to spectrum from any mobile device," said Chandramouli.

"Security concerns will be addressed as an integral part of our design process," said Subbalakshmi.

The worldwide shortage in spectrum, the policies from regulatory bodies favoring shared spectrum access, and the development of relevant standards make the moment right to exploit DSA technology. We will bring a new generation of wireless communication products to commercial and military networks, said Kumar.

Chandramouli, Subbalaskshmi and Kumar are partnering with the Brookline Police Department in Massachusetts to pilot test their technology.

We are excited about this new technology and look forward to working with the Stevens researchers and Dynamic Spectrum in the development of their cognitive radio system. The Town of Brooklines WIFI mesh network, utilizing the 4.9 and 2.4 GHz spectrum is a great real world environment to test and enhance this new groundbreaking technology, said Officer Scott Wilder, director of technology and communication for the Brookline Police Department.

Benefits of Easy Upgradeability of Telecom Base Station Technology Drives the Software Defined Radio Market, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) August 24, 2012

Follow us on LinkedIn Software Defined Radio (SDR) refers to a technology that is making significant waves in telecommunications and related industries. The technology is witnessing a rapid growth, as software-led radio communication systems are fast replacing the hardwired communication systems. The shift is being witnessed in several industries, with military, commercial and civilian industries at the forefront of this change. The basis for such a shift is fostered by the capabilities of the technology to render multi tasking through a radio system based on open-architecture software. This minimizes the use of multiple systems that was hitherto the case with existing technology, as SDR technology extends the systems utility to a broad array of applications employing diverse link-layer techniques and protocols.

The military was the first industry to have adopted SDR technology worldwide, where it is aimed at minimizing the number of radios used by combat forces to just one system, upholding the overall functionality. Today, SDR represents an advanced technology in military applications; consequently inciting militaries worldwide to adopt this technology. The US military became the first to adopt this technology and is increasingly being adopted by other militaries worldwide. Consequently, the potential of SDR technology in the military application market is expected to rapidly increase in the foreseeable future. Also, SDR is gaining importance in commercial markets. The communications sector is the epicenter of most activity related to SDR technology adoption. Increasingly cellular operators are realizing the importance of SDR technology in their operations and the potential this technology holds in transforming the functionality of existing infrastructure, all through the power of software. Consequently, demand for systems of the cutting edge technology is expected to rise remarkably during the following years. Future market growth hinges upon several factors including relative ease infused in components for engendering ease in retrofitting and adaptation of products in congruence to constantly developing air interface standards; improvements with respect to cost of developing products; time to market; and prospects in improving OEM margins.

A major factor driving the demand for SDR is the need for such an enabling technology that allows intercommunication between departments through radio. The need was particularly highlighted in the US in the aftermath of 9/11, when fire and police department personnel identified the need for the ability to communicate with each other, a facility not feasible for the radios in operation then. However, technology upgrade ensued and the problem was eliminated. Even before the 9/11 incident, the military identified such a problem with their legacy radio systems carried by various branches of armed services. The identification of the problem led to the use of Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), which played a critical role in development of SDR, and in creation of SCA (Software Communication Architecture) Operating Environment standard. The latest zest in the area of SDR is emerging from the commercial market side, where wireless communications providers are showing significant interest as the technology allows remote base station and handset software upgrading as well as reconfiguration with new patches and features. In addition, the technology allows interoperability between various networks.

The present days changing economic and technological environment offers tremendous challenges to operators of communications. The SDR technology offers substantial flexibility as well as upgradeability to users by allowing simultaneous use of multiple standards through a single hardware device. Through the use of software RAN, the SDR technology helps operators to simultaneously support several standards on one hardware platform. This becomes particularly useful for operators with evolving industry landscape where the need for generating new revenue streams and holding on to a higher customer base becomes critical despite declining average revenues per user (ARPU). Software RAN enables upgradeability to next generations through mere software downloads, eliminating the need for equipment hardware, thereby addressing the major concern faced by most cellular service providers in the present context. For years, shared infrastructure has been offering benefits such as cost reduction; however, it has been fraught with certain issues that have reduced its appeal including dearth of independent upgrades, lack of competitive differentiation and requirement of cooperative management. Some or all of these issues are efficiently addressed by a virtualized base station through its virtualization technology, where a single hardware platform supports several independent base-station applications.

Cost remains a major concern for cellular operators, as these costs continue to remain higher than what many operators intend to infuse in base stations. The prohibitively higher costs of implementation make it particularly unsuitable for telecom companies, given the lack of cost-effective RF processing. RF equipment, particularly power amplifiers, is yet to reach the stage of commercialization, although base-band processing capabilities have significantly advanced. The higher costs act as a major hurdle for operators that are yet to formulate a LTE strategy and indecisive of the spectrum to be run on the LTE. Traditionally, hardware upgrades represented the most sought after option for operators intending to install new systems. This was achieved by depending upon a single vendor who took care of the entire hardware installation functions, although the mobile operators undertook the job of service and maintenance functions. However, this set up does not function well in case of SDR technology, as the entire reconfiguration is carried out by the vendor. Instead, the operator would be compelled to host a dedicated software engineer team for maintaining the SDR base stations.

As stated by the new market research report on Software Defined Radio, the US represents the largest regional market for the SDR technology worldwide. The radio communications space in the country is witnessing a substantial growth in research and development, given the drive of the defense establishments to address the need of its personnel with respect to next generation tactical radios. The defense sector is expected to witness a massive shift away from legacy hardware into SDR and cognitive radio (CR), enabled by the deployment of OTA (over-the-air)-system supporting radio systems, fuelling further growth in the market. The European market for SDR is also expected to growth at a substantial rate of 17.4% through the analysis period 2010-2018.

Major players in the global SDR marketplace include AeroStream Communications Corp., Alcatel-Lucent SA, Array Systems Computing, Inc., Bharat Electronics Limited, Epiq Solutions, LLC, FlexRadio Systems, Inc., Harris Corporation, ISR Technologies, Inc., Rockwell Collins, Inc., and Thales Communications, Inc.

The C-Radio Show, a national business radio program, airs a new episode covering the topic of venture capital and the quest to find the next Facebook.

Mountain View, California (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

Business Talk Show Host, Cynthia Nevels, Interviews Technology Startups Who Share Lessons Learned in the Quest to Create the Perfect VC Pitch and Become the Next Facebook on the next episode The C-Radio Show.

It's reported, Mark Zuckerberg founder of Facebook turned down most venture capitalists' offers to invest in his idea. Overtime, Zuckerberg perfected the pitch and the $ 12.7 million investment gave, venture capital firm, Accel Partners a 15% stake in Facebook. Today, the company expects to reach the highest payoff the United States has ever seen with Facebook's IPO.

That's not the case for most tech startups. Finding a venture capitalist who will listen let alone invest is challenging for some, to say the least. Business talk show host, Cynthia Nevels, of The C-Radio Show will interview two new technology startup founders who took much different roads to fiinding investment capital for their startups.

Searching for venture capital to jumpstart a new Silicon Valley startup came fairly easy for Garrett Johnson, Co-Founder of SendHub.com. He and SendHub.com's co-founders have raised $ 2 million in seed funding from Kapor Capital, Menlo Ventures, 500 startups, Howard Lindzons Social Leverage fund, Eric Ries, Paul Buchheit, Jawed Karim and a handful of other investors. SendHub has now launched its new iPhone mobile application and is looking to go social. Johnson talks to Cynthia to shed insight on what it takes to go from a small startup to billion dollar IPO.

Trice Johnson, founder and creator of government procurement and data intelligence web application, Smazit.com shares a different story on how losing the 2011 Rice Alliance Venture Capital Pitch competition fueled her to find alternative sources of capital for her technology startup. "They don't teach you how to raise capital for tech startups in high school," states Trice Johnson, President of Smazit.com. Smazit.com has completed its demonstration phase and plans to launch the new web application on May 28, 2012 using her own funds and private investment from friends and family.

The live interview broadcasts live on the C-Radio Show's episode, "Perfecting the VC Pitch" live on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 11:30AM CST to 12:00PM CST.

Get Smart: Deep ‘SHONTELLIGENCE’ Reveals an Irresistible New Talent — Barbados-Born Beauty SHONTELLE Co-Writes and Sings a Stunning Debut Album on SRP/SRC/Universal Motown Debut single “T-Shirt” is TOP 20 at Mainstream Pop Radio!

NEW YORK (PRWEB) October 10, 2008

And it gets better from theremuch better. SHONTELLE's debut album SHONTELLIGENCE, is a state-of-the-art, magnetic and musically comprehensive playlist for today's global pop and urban music fan -- an unmistakable giant step onto center stage for the 23-year old native of Bridgetown, Barbados. The album is scheduled for release on November 18, 2008, through SRP Records' affiliation with SRC, the Universal Motown-distributed imprint of hip-hop entrepreneur and urban marketing innovator Steve Rifkind, making her the label-mate of the SRC platinum-plus artists Akon and David Banner. SHONTELLE's debut also features the idealistic and inspiring "Battle Cry," which was chosen for the unique all-star CD/download compilation Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement, developed for the Presidential campaign of Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

In the eleven songs of SHONTELLIGENCE, she takes ownership of a musical palette that broadens and deepens with each successive track. Throughout the album, SHONTELLE's voice is assertive and exuberant, with an impressive lyrical consciousness enveloping a boundary-busting pop-urban spectrum, from the multicultural riddim-centric soca of "Roll" and "Focus Pon Me," to the reggae tracks "Life is Not an Easy Road," "Crave You," "Flesh and Bone." There's also a literate and progressive neo-soul vibe to "Superwoman," "Plastic People" and "Ghetto Lullaby," and a retro/alternative urban note in "Cold Cold Summer."

Like the most talented of today's young entertainers, Shontelle Layne made her mark first as a writer, co-composing the award-winning soca smash and girl-power anthem "Roll" in 2005. Producer/songwriters Evan Rogers and Carl Sturken of SRP Records, whose production company had previously discovered and launched fellow Bajan native Rihanna as a worldwide superstar, had sought to contact the writer of "Roll" with a view to creating a cover for the international market. They were first stunned, and then delighted, to recognize that the hit songwriter -- and straight-A entertainment law student -- had all the makings of a world-class performer as well. "We couldn't believe that Shontelle was such a great singer, and so young and beautiful, and hadn't been discovered yet," says Rogers.

Over a year and a half of focused work and patient development, Shontelle joined the SRP production company, and recorded her album, co-writing with producers Sturken and Rogers, and collaborating with other A-list hitmakers, including Wayne Wilkins and Andrew Frampton ("T-Shirt") Stargate ("Superwoman") and the Heavyweights and the Jam ("Battle Cry"), as well as the hometown Barbados-based teams Classic Soul ("Focus Pon Me") and De Red Boys ("Crave You"). She signed with Steve Rifkind's SRC Records early in 2008.

Defining "intelligence" recently to an interviewer as "the gathering of new knowledge or information, the ability to comprehend and profit from experience," SHONTELLE reflected that "knowledgefeeds my life and my music.
