According to the survey, document management and records management, with penetration rates of 86% and 84% respectively, are the most widely deployed ECM technologies amongst Chinese enterprises, given their goal of securely capturing, exchanging, and managing the information generated and contained in paper documents.

Kable's survey results indicate that 96% of Chinese enterprises are already using green IT and virtualization solutions to reduce carbon footprint and a significant proportion of enterprises are planning to make investments in this technology.

The need for real-time communications, improved accessibility of enterprise data, and employee productivity enhancements are the key drivers behind Chinese enterprises' adoption of enterprise mobility solutions.

Key Highlights

The adoption of analytics is gaining momentum among Chinese enterprises, and Kable expects this growth to continue, as 73% of Chinese enterprises are planning investments in these tools in the next twenty-months.

The survey finds that with a penetration rate of 54%, the adoption of enterprise search tools is still limited. However, this scenario is likely to change in the next two years, as X% of respondents plan to invest in enterprise search technologies in order to make the search for content easier and faster.

According to the survey, a majority of Chinese enterprises indicate that they have made investments in mobile device management technologies, an impressive 78% are planning to spend in this area in the next two years.

Kable's survey finds that 98% of respondents in China already have IT systems management in place. With a penetration rate of 86%, IT service management currently tops the list in terms of enterprises' systems management investment priorities.

With a current penetration rate of 70%, software as a service (SaaS) is the most widely used cloud solution amongst Chinese enterprises. The demand for SaaS is expected to increase with X% of Chinese enterprises planning to invest here in the next two years.

The company, which is ranked as the second largest distributor of IT components in the world, will be seeking to short-list potential partners at GITEX Dubai 2004, which is to be held from October 3 to 7, at Dubai International Exhibition Centre. eSys aims to have a fully functional distribution channel in Iraq before the end of 2004.
