Mall of the Emirates Installs 54-Monitor Video Wall Powered by Matrox Mura MPX

Montreal (PRWEB) October 09, 2013

Matrox Graphics today announced the Mall of the Emirates, one of the largest in the Middle East, recently installed an immense 54-monitor digital signage video wall powered by Matrox Mura™ MPX Series controller boards. Installed by ALMOE AV Systems and integrated by a local distributor, the video wall comprises fifty-four 55” Samsung monitors to form an attention-grabbing installation with stunning visuals announcing activities and promotions in the 520-store mall.

The combination of Mura MPX-4/2 and Mura MPX-4/0 boards that power the wall were installed in a Matrox-validated 4U system. The first PCI Express® x16 Gen2 board class to cost-effectively integrate multiple HD inputs and outputs on the same board, Mura MPX eliminates the need for separate solutions with a multi-functional design facilitating video capture, signal conversion, switching, scaling, and display.

Furthermore, Mura’s universal input support and HDCP compliance enable administrators to showcase copy-protected content from a variety of sources including digital cable, satellite set-top boxes, video streamers, and the Blu-ray Disc™ player currently being used with the wall.

“Shoppers can’t help but notice the video wall and enjoy all the massive, superior-quality visuals,” said Gareth Armstrong, contracts manager for ALMOE AV Systems. “Matrox Mura has provided the Mall of the Emirates with a huge boost to its digital signage as well as to the overall experience of going to the mall.”

New Matrox Mura MPX Series Add-In Boards Redefine Collaborative Video Walls and Matrix Switcher/Scaler Solutions

Matrox Mura MPX Series boards for collaborative display walls and matrix switcher/scaler installations.

Montreal, Quebec (Vocus/PRWEB) January 27, 2011

Matrox Graphics Inc. today announced the new Matrox Mura™ MPX Series display wall controller board line-up for collaborative display walls and matrix switcher/scaler installations. The new Mura MPX Series cards combine traditionally separate input and output cards onto a single-slot, PCI Express x16 Gen 2 board, leveraging 64 Gb/sec full duplex data transfer to display full frame rate, HD video input channels. The MPX Series output/input boards feature highly flexible, universal input channel support for both digital and analog video (HD, SL-DVI, RGB/VGA, Component, S-Video, and Composite), plus capture and display data sources at full RGB888 image quality with zero compression. System integrators can easily add multiple MPX output/input boards within a single system and incorporate MPX video capture cards for high-volume, analog video input deployments.

Universal Output/Input Boards:

-Mura MPX-4/0 (4 outputs, 0 inputs)

Part number: Mura-MPX44F

-Mura MPX-4/2 (4 outputs, 2 inputs)

Part number: Mura-MPX42F

-Mura MPX-4/4 (4 outputs, 4 inputs)

Part number: Mura-MPX40F

Analog Video Input Boards:

-Mura MPX-V8 (8 inputs)

Part number: Mura-MPX44F

-Mura Mura MPX-V16 (16 inputs)

Part number: Mura-MPXV16F

The ultimate building block for control room video walls, digital signage, and corporate presentation environments, Mura MPX Series includes an updated SDK, including API software—backwards compatible with the existing Matrox PPX/VPX Display Wall Series—plus a new network API with integrated media input/output control for a quicker time to market. The ideal add-in board for display wall controllers, Mura MPX Series can also be integrated within switcher/scaler solutions, providing all-in-one switching, signal conversion, scaling, and de-interlacing capabilities, eliminating the need to purchase separate solutions.

“System designers and integrators will be impressed by the performance, image quality and scalability that Matrox Mura MPX Series has to offer,” says Helgi Sigurdsson, Product Manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. “Designed with both outputs and inputs on the same single-slot card to take full advantage of the duplex nature of the PCIe x16 bus, multiple MPX add-in boards can easily be combined in a single system to build large-scale video wall and matrix switcher/scaler solutions.”

Matrox will be showcasing the Matrox Mura technology at Integrated Systems Europe 2011 in Booth# 11F48, Hall 11, from February 1-3 at the Amsterdam RAI.

Availability

The Matrox Mura MPX Series display wall controller boards will be available in Q2/Q3 2011. Development kits will be available in February 2011. For more information on Mura boards or to order your development kit, please contact graphics(at)matrox(dot)com.

Introducing Matrox Mura: The New Benchmark for Collaborative Video Walls

Introducing Matrox Mura: The New Benchmark for Collaborative Video Walls

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) November 17, 2010

Matrox Graphics Inc. unveils the ultimate building block for video wall controllers with the new Matrox Mura™ controller board, capable of capturing four full 1080p HD inputs and simultaneously driving four monitors at up to 2048×1080, while maintaining full RGB 888 image quality. Based on second generation PCI Express technology, the controller board boasts a x16 bus interface providing an unrivalled 64 Gb/s of bandwidth for cutting-edge performance, while the customized 10-slot Matrox Mura switch fabric can deliver 512 Gb/s upstream and downstream for an unprecedented total throughput of 1Tb/sec. The flexible, all-in-one controller board captures content from and displays to a range of signal types including RGB, DVI/HDMI, component, composite, and S-video sources. Integrating input and output plus support for all types of channels in one single-slot controller board simplifies inventory management, while its standard form factor makes it easy to integrate into any video wall processor.

Matrox partner Amara International Ltd. will be showcasing Matrox Mura technology at InfoComm Asia 2010 in Booth 7C04, from November 17-19 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center.

“Matrox Mura’s upstream and downstream capabilities on a single board—at 4 times the performance of its competition—represents the new building block standard for display wall applications,” says Alain Thiffault, Business Development Manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. “By replacing existing multi-board set offerings, integrators can now easily exploit a mainstream computer’s available system slots to drive boardroom-type installs or use our custom switch fabric to comfortably power large-scale visualization and collaboration environments.”

The new addition to the well-established Matrox family of Display Wall Controller boards supports the existing Matrox Display Wall API interface, allowing current OEM customers to use their existing wall management software, without any additional development, for a seamless transition from the existing Matrox VPX™ and Matrox PPX™ product lines. Matrox Display Wall SDK now offers a new management interface, network API, and RS-232 control to help new customers shorten their time to market.

Availability

The new Matrox Mura controller board is designed for Microsoft® Windows® 7 64-bit systems and offers superior performance at a competitive price. Developer kits are available now for select partners. Contact Matrox for additional details on Mura and our wide range of video wall solutions.
