Rush Limbaugh Buying The St. Louis Rams?

Apparently Rush Limbaugh and St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts have partnered in a bid to buy the St. Louis Rams, worth an estimated $929 million and owners of the NFL’s longest current losing streak 14-consecutive games. The children of the late Georgia Frontiere, having inherited 60% ownership in the team upon her death in January 2008, currently own the team. Missouri billionaire Stan Kroenke owns the remaining 40%.Limbaugh a native of Cape Girardeau, Missouri is known nationally for his conservative radio show and is often referred to as the voice of the Republican Party. This venture would not be his first in professional sports, having once worked for the Kansas City Royals. Nor is it Limbaugh’s first play in the National Football League, having worked briefly on ESPN’s NFL pre-game show in 2003. A job he resigned from following controversy over his comments about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Limbaugh asserted that the media overrated McNabb because they wanted to see a black quarterback succeed. The Rams have been rumored to be sold almost from the time of Frontiere’s death. It is known by its fan base that her children have no interest or ties to the team, being involved in other business ventures. The concern among pro football fans in St. Louis is the loss of another team. The St. Louis Cardinals moved to Arizona in 1987, leaving the city without an NFL presence until 1995, when Frontiere moved the Los Angeles Rams from the country’s second largest market to her hometown.A clause in the terms of the Rams move from Los Angeles allows the team to move back as early as 2014 if the stadium in which they play, the Edward Jones Dome is not among the NFL’s top quarter of NFL venues. The stadium is currently lacking and there is a strong belief that the NFL would love pro football back in Los Angeles.Rams fans might want to be careful here – you might just get what you wish for. The team may stay in St. Louis with a Limbaugh backed ownership, but with a team that has as many issues as the Rams, Limbaugh’s conservative approach may not translate to wins. I am assuming because every play would be run to the right!

St. Louis Rams Tickets- Two More Players Placed on Injured Reserve

In a season that has been difficult to say the least, the St. Louis Rams got dealt another blow after week 15 when they were forced to place both kick returner Derek Stanley and linebacker Gary Sills on injured reserve. The Rams have had more than their fair share on injuries. Also on the injured reserve are wide receiver Drew Bennett, left tackle Brandon Gorin, kick returner Dante Hall, cornerback Tye Hill, cornerback Justin King, center Nick Leckey, running back Brian Leonard, cornerback Ricky Manning Jr., tight end Randy McMichael and left guard Mark Setterstrom. The Rams still have two games left, one against the San Francisco 49ers and another against the Atlanta Falcons. See them finish their season with St. Louis Rams tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/st-louis-rams-tickets where you can buy or sell tickets all year long.
Stanley suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during week 15's game against the Seattle Seahawks, which the Rams lost 23-20. He will need surgery on the knee and will be out for six to eight months after that. Stanley has been with the Rams since they selected him in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. His first year, he played in three games. That season, he returned 20 kicks for 509 yards, and 17 of his returns were over 20 yards. So far this season, he has played in 10 games with 25 returns for 620 yards and 20 over 20 yards. He has also returned 11 punts this season for 101 yards as well as tallied two tackles. With Stanley out, Travis Minor will be the new go-to man on kick returns with Jonathan Wade moving up from third team to second team. Dane Looker will be the new first team player on punt returns.
Gary Stills has been playing much of this season with left knee bone chips and went on injured reserve in order to have surgery. He first entered the league in 1999 when he was picked in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. By his fourth year with the Chiefs, he was playing in every game. In 2003, he had 35 tackles, one pass defended, three sacks and three forced fumbles, a career-high for Stills. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent in 2006 and spent two seasons there. This year is his first with the Rams and he has seen action in every game prior to his injury. The Rams won't have to worry about replacing Stills as he was already behind Chris Draft, Will Witherspoon and David Vobora on the depth chart.
The Rams are hoping to improve on their 2-12 record with wins at the end of the season. They have been through a mid-season coaching change this year along with the multiple injuries. The team has not won a game this season since their 34-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys during week seven. Since then, they have lost five out of eight games by more than two touchdowns.

Deconstructing The St. Louis Rams

There are many animals which you would not dare cross paths with, unless you are doing a segment for MTV's program, "The Wild Boys" or a show like the ones for the Discovery Channel which deals with the creation of documentations for these animals. Such animals, like the Black Mamba is one of the feistiest and fastest snakes in the world and is regarded by many as the deadliest snake in the whole world. In the deadly waters of the Amazon, one would not dare put their legs down the water as it may be filled with carnivorously biting Piranhas or even the preying crocodiles nearby. If you are familiar with those Spanish shows that deal with raging bulls, you may have seen one of those unwanted scenarios where the matador would actually be hit by the bull, then you would know that in the first place, individuals should not even be getting in the way of these fired up beasts that can crack our bones if we are hit. Want a junior of these bulls? What about rams? They can hit you hard like these bulls, but are actually lighter and faster. Not a bad combination right? Speed and power is the perfect knock anyone out.
It is no surprise that the St Louis team named their football team under that animal. The St. Louis Rams is definitely living up to the animal which they have chosen. After all, what more could you want than power, speed, and accuracy in hitting your opponents. And indeed this team packs a mean punch when they are out there in the field. The franchise already has two NFL Championships and one Super Bowl championship under its belt. Like many other teams in the NFL, this team is no stranger to the shifting as with terms of "residency". Prior to being based in St. Louis, the Rams originally started in Cleveland. Afterwards, for fifteen seasons, the team then moved to Anaheim, Los Angeles as the Los Angeles Rams. At the year 1995, this is then when the club has been staying in St Louis up to the present. Although it still is owned by the same individual, the NFL allowed it to be a separate entity since the no part of the previous management joined the movement and only four of the players rode with the team. And now looks like the Rams are on their way to continue their rampage in knocking out the other teams in the NFL.
The owner of this club surely did choose a good name. Considering that it is a football team, what more would any person want that drive through any other opponent. Rip them, and bury them to the ground! That is how a ram would finish its opponents. Football then would be the sport to bring out the ram in all of us. Let the animal inside be set free and do its own thing. So what animal would you be, the predator or the prey?

6 Key Players That Have Made the St Louis Rams “Ram-Tough”

The St. Louis Rams have recently won the Super Bowl. However, several players have played outstandingly during the franchise's history.
Sometimes success comes sooner, rather than later. After playing in Los Angeles from 1946-1994, the NFL's Rams moved to St. Louis. Within half a decade, the Rams had earned their franchise's first Super Bowl, by defeating the Tennessee Titans, 23-16! While most of today's Rams fans know the names Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk, you might be unfamiliar with all of the players whose jersey numbers the Rams have already retired:
1. #7 Bob Waterfield (Quarterback): 1945-1952
Waterfield played for the Rams while they were located in both Cleveland and Los Angeles. In 1945, he became the first rookie to win the NFL MVP. Additionally, the league selected Waterfield for two Pro Bowls, and to the NFL 1940s All-Decade team. Waterfield also played as a punter and place kicker!
2. #28 Marshall Faulk (Running Back): 1999-2005
In 1994, Faulk was the #2 overall pick in the NFL draft. He became successful in the NFL, as a powerful and speedy rusher. During his NFL career, Faulk ran 12,279 yards (4.3 yards-per-carry average), and scored 136 total rushing and catching touchdowns. The NFL selected Faulk to seven Pro Bowls.
3. #29 Eric Dickerson (Running Back): 1983-1987
During his senior year at Southern Methodist University, Dickerson finished third in Heisman Trophy balloting. He then had a stellar career in the NFL, from 1983-1993. Dickerson's career statistics are impressive: 13,259 yards rushing, 2,137 reception yards, and 96 touchdowns. The NFL chose Dickerson for five Pro Bowl teams.
4. #74 Merlin Olsen (Defensive Tackle): 1962-1976
Before he was a spokesperson for a flower company, Olsen delivered bone-crushing tackles to his opponents. Olsen played all 208 of his NFL games, with the Los Angeles Rams. He became part of the Rams' defensive line, whose nickname was "The Fearsome Foursome." The NFL selected Olsen to an astounding 14 Pro Bowls.
5. #78 Jackie Slater (Offensive Tackle): 1976-1995
Slater played for both the Los Angeles and St. Louis Rams. Both Slater and Darrel Green of the Washington Redskins hold the NFL's record for the most seasons with a single team (20). In addition, the league selected Slater to seven Pro Bowls. The NFL also chose him four times as the NFL Offensive Lineman of the Year.
6. #85 Jack Youngblood (Defensive End): 1971-1984
Youngblood once stated that "...if you want to do a job bad enough, you'll find a way to get it done." Indeed, Youngblood "got it done." His NFL accomplishments include:
• 7 Pro Bowl games
• 6 All-Pro teams
• 1970s NFL All-Decade team
• 3 Rams MVP
• 1975 NFL Defensive Lineman of the Year
• Pro/College Football Hall of Fame
Youngblood also holds the Rams team cored for the most consecutive games (201). In fact, in 14 years in the NFL, he only missed a single game!
Indeed, the Rams have recently achieved their greatest success in the NFL. However, several players have played outstandingly, throughout the franchise's history. Use St. Louis Rams merchandise to cheer on the team to another Super Bowl victory!

I remember vividly 'Coach P' stating to me 'on the line,' over and over again, so many times that I soon understood how important the game was. The irony is that I didn't walk out of practice, I ran every sprint he demanded of me and I returned to practice the next day...the rest is history!
