Elysium and Nexroot to Provide a Grid Enabled Multi-CAD Data Translation Portal

Southfield, MI (PRWEB) October 14, 2004 - Elysium Inc., a leading global provider of multi-

CAD enabling software, and Nexroot LLC., a provider of software services for product design and development, today announced the launch of CADportal. CADportal is a new, enterprise job management software solution for automatically, checking, healing and translating 3D CAD data. This highly scalable technology is available for enterprise implementations at manufacturers needing to streamline multi-CAD environments.

CADportal is written in Java using Grid Computing architecture to streamline and enable the CAD translation process. Grid technology enables dynamic access to additional computing resources by integrating computers over a network and dispatching jobs in parallel to multiple computer nodes. CADportal has combined this advanced computing power with Elysium’s range of high-end translation technologies, which support bi-directional CATIA V4, CATIA V5, Pro/ENGINEER, Mechanical Desktop, I-deas NX, Unigraphic NX, JT, IGES and Parasolid formats. The Elysium translators also provide advanced healing of 3D data and translation of features within CADportal.

“The strength of Nexroot’s technological excellence with Grid Computing means that manufacturers now have access to an incredibly powerful 3D data translation solution,” stated Ken Tashiro, Vice President & COO, Elysium Inc. “Furthermore, the solution is very scalable and easy to implement and manage, making this kind of super-strength technology available to even the smallest manufacturer.”

“Many of our largest end-users today are running into compute-demand issues whereby secondary platforms and software purchases are required,” Tashiro continued, “With Nexroot’s Grid enabled CADportal, these end-users today can scale compute throughput by simply connecting another cpu and registering the node with the scheduler via the translation control panel.”

CADportal has been developed for easy integration into existing infrastructure and rapid deployment. Once installed, either via hardware appliance or software download, additional compute nodes can typically be installed and running within 15 minutes. The easily-understood interface with CADportal means that administration and use of CADportal can occur very rapidly and with zero training for system administrators or users.

“The use of Grid Computing technology for Elysium’s Multi-CAD data translation is a perfect match and avoids the need for expensive, additional servers and new sets of CAD translation tools when usage increases in an enterprise,” said Dave Maloy of Nexroot. “The taxonomy of being able to use spare cycles on users’ systems within the network means CADportal is infinitely scalable with another simple, 15-minute implementation. This solution means that high-end CAD translation is now within reach of smaller manufacturers who simply could not afford the overheads in the past.”

CADportal’s interface provides intuitive job management, reporting and scheduling tools that make it easy to administer CAD data translation across an organization. It supports Windows 2000, XP, HP-UX and Sun Solaris platforms.

An architecture developed with robust data security is built into the solution:

– Secure hypertext transport protocol (https) from end-user to appliance.

– 3-DES encryption for Scheduler/Client communications and vault data storage.

– Enhanced by firewall-compliant architecture featuring a configurable communication port and passive client communication for DMZ deployment.

Nexroot will continue to work exclusively with Elysium to develop and enhance the underlying technology that makes CADportal so powerful. Elysium will be heading sales and distribution of the solution via its global channel of resellers and partners in North America and Europe.

Data Protection Solutions Expands D2D EzBackup Offerings

Hollywood, FL (PRWEB) March 5, 2005

Data Protection Solutions, or DPS, the provider of disk mirroring, backup and bare metal restore solutions for the edge of the network, announced today the addition of two Disk 2 Disk (D2D) products to the EzBackup™ product line. The EzBackup product line now includes both 3.5” and 5.25” Bay Mount versions offering end-users and system integrators more integration options. The EzBackup Bay Mount products enable end-users with limited access to the front panel of a system to use either a 3.5” or a 5.25” bay to install an EzBackup controller in either form factor.

Both EzBackup solutions bring the benefits of higher-end, enterprise data backup and recovery capabilities to the edge of the network with full image copies of the hard drive and fast, efficient bare metal restore of that drive. These solutions are offered through the distribution partners of Data Protection Solutions at a suggested retail price of $ 199, considerably less than that of much more expensive tape or CD solutions in the market today.

“The data at the edge of the network has been neglected for years. Either it was too cumbersome to conduct any meaningful backups with the available products or the user simply ignored back ups and kept his or her fingers crossed. With products like EZBackup, and now with these additional models, there is no more excuse for the user not to protect data as it should be protected,” states Arun Taneja of the Taneja Group.

“The use of the EzBackup patented technology ensures that full image backups are executed on the backup drive, virtually guaranteeing a complete restore when one is needed,” states Steve Hammond, SVP of Sales and Marketing at DPS. “DPS has recently completed distribution agreements with both Tech Data and D&H based on the considerable need in the market for EzBackup solutions. With its price point less then half of the traditional backup and restore products on the market today, we are to remove the price decision barrier and are better able to better address the demand for these solutions.”

“Our technology, which is simple to use, yet an extremely sophisticated application, will allow so many additional users at the edge of the networks to finely properly protect their data and have complete confidence in restoring their critical data,” states Lawrence F Steffann, President/ CEO of DPS.

About DPS’ Technology

The company's DupliDisk™ and EzBackup™ product lines eliminate the costs of data loss by preventing its occurrence. A fully bootable image copy ensures that the system can be restored in a matter of seconds, versus hours. DPS’ family of products also removes the backup load from the host CPU, requiring no drivers, IRQs or TSRs. Furthermore, data security is greatly enhanced through the application of the company's patent-pending Hidden Device Technology (HDT). HDT’s unique capability renders the backup drive invisible to the system and also to the user, requiring no customer intervention or scheduled commands. As stated by Steffann, “we are providing our customers with an easy-to-use, enterprise-class solution at minimal cost, whether they’re SOHO, SMB or enterprise-level customers.”

About Data Protection Solutions

Headquartered in South Florida, Arco Data Protection Solutions (http://www.ezd2d.com/) was founded in 1989. Its disk mirroring RAID controller and EzBackupTM disk-to-disk (D2D) product lines, powered by the company’s patented DupliDisk technology, are designed to preserve the value of personal and corporate data. Data values are growing exponentially, and the high failure rate of tape-based backups and restores is a more serious threat to these values than ever. D2D backup provides cost-effective backup and storage up to terabyte capacity. It is now recognized as the “fail-safe” solution to data protection for enterprise, SMB and SOHO applications. The company serves both direct and OEM markets through distributors and resellers in the United States, Europe and the Far East.

Growing Emphasis on the Importance of Due Diligence Reporting Drives the Market for Virtual Data Rooms, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) January 13, 2014

Follow us on LinkedIn – Virtual data rooms (VDR) as a new generation of online document storage and filing system is witnessing strong interest and adoption among enterprises. Defined as a virtual form of the traditional physical data rooms that serve as repositories of important and confidential company related data, VDRs replicate the same function over the Internet using computers. The tough and challenging economic climate which continues to remain the new normal in developed countries and the ensuing pressure on corporate bottom lines is driving significant interest in cost effective IT technologies and solutions. Cloud computing and cloud based technologies, over the last decade, have emerged to revolutionize the very structure of IT departments worldwide. A disruptive force in the making, virtual data room services represent the most efficient model of delivering file storage resources to companies. With almost all industries worldwide now being dependent on compute resources, virtual data rooms, which represent a cloud based resource, is forecast to witness strong growth. Adoption of VDRs will continue to benefit from the maturing cloud concept and the resulting increase in interoperability, data portability, and lower costs.

Disadvantages associated with traditional information storage and management strategies include risk of data loss and misplacement, high upfront capital costs in case of physical data rooms, time consuming filing process, lack of security, and limited efficiency benefits. All of these drawbacks are helping drive the migration to VDRs. Key benefits of VDR driving its adoption include automatic creation of backup of all uploaded files/data, superior security controls, efficient support for multiple users, easy and hassle free retrieval and viewing of files, cost effective storage of regulated information, compliance with regulatory norms, rapid anytime access to files, flexible pay per use billing, elasticity and ability to scale up datacenter resources as per requirement, among others. VDRs in addition also offer a superior alternate solution to generic file sharing (GFS) programs like Dropbox, and Google Drive, which although effective for consumer personal use, are often ill-suited for enterprise applications. Security glitches such as, violation of privacy norms like unauthorized sale or sharing of information with third parties, infrastructure limitations, limited reporting features, inability to track & trace user statistics and lack of strong backup options for files stored, remain key concerns with the use of GFS programs. Virtual data rooms in this regard offer a robust and secure platform for sensitive data storage and sharing.

Typically, use of VDR is dominated by corporate functions such as mergers & acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, liquidation, IPOs and bankruptcies. Future growth, however, will be led by increased adoption of VDR in facilitating newer corporate functions such as investor communications, fundraising, research & development, asset purchases, loan syndication, and supply chain secure document sharing, among others. While investment banks, manufacturing companies, and law firms represent dominant users of VDR, healthcare and pharmaceutical companies are emerging as a lucrative customer cluster, driven by increased drug development and licensing collaborations, patent filing activity and the growing need to protect IP property.

As stated by the new market research report on Virtual Data Rooms, the United States represents the largest regional market followed by Europe. Asia-Pacific is forecast to emerge as the fastest growing market with a CAGR of 20.7% over the analysis period.

Major players in the market include Ansarada pty Limited, AppFolio, Inc., Brainloop, EthosData, Firmex Inc., Global KAP Pty Ltd., iDeals™ Solutions Group S.A., Intralinks Holdings Inc., Merrill Data Site, RR Donnelley & Sons Company, ShareVault, TransPerfect Deal Interactive, and V-Rooms™ among others.

The research report titled “Virtual Data Rooms: A Global Strategic Business Report” announced by Global Industry Analysts Inc., provides a comprehensive review of market trends, mergers, acquisitions and other strategic industry activities. The report provides market estimates and projections in US dollars for all major geographic markets including the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe (France, Germany, Italy, UK, Spain, Russia and Rest of Europe), Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Rest of World.

World Big Data Market Opportunities 2013-2018

London (PRWEB) October 29, 2013

Report Details

Although big data is not a new concept, it has emerged as a significant commercial success over the past few years. Visiongain calculates that over the next five years big data will play an increasingly important role in the business segment as future systems will further exploit the capabilities offered by this technology. Visiongain has determined that the value of the global big data market in 2013 will reach $ 12.4 billion.

One of the key driving points for big data services has been its applicability to all forms of organizations where some sort of data is being compiled and managed. While all of these organizations might not gain equally from the application of big data, some will thrive from it and others will see results with a lower impact. Nonetheless big data is here to stay and is already being adopted in many sectors including healthcare, communications, retail, transport, private and the public sector.

In recent years, as the IT world discovers new and innovative ways on how to systematically collect and harness the power of big data, there has been increasing debate regarding its ethical application, especially with the growing concerns for user privacy and users demanding full transparency from organizations from how their private data is being handled.

This issue has been highlighted with the recent revelation from the leaked documents of the Prism initiative of the National Security Agency (NSA) and its alleged linkages to gain access to user data from giant corporations using big data such as Facebook, Google, Apple and a few others. These companies could come under close scrutiny for the exploitation of their users private data if these claims are found to be true.

Big data is turning out to be a ubiquitous phenomenon which can effectively be applied a wide range of industries from the private to the public sector. The overall big data market is growing at a rapid pace and will continue to do so over the forecast period 2013-2018. Big data has become more of a buzzword recently and 80% of the enterprises in the developed world are now investing at least some part of their IT budget on big data.
