The National Camp Series (NCS) Held a Successful Championship Kicking Camp in Dallas, TX, on May 19, 2013

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 24, 2013

The National Camp Series (NCS) held a successful Championship Kicking Camp, for high school kickers, punters and snappers in Dallas, TX on May 19, 2013 according to retired NFL Kicker, and NCS founder, Michael Husted.

I really enjoyed the NCS Dallas Championship Camp last weekend, says Husted. It was great to coach at the camp with Darren Bennett, as well as see my good friend Mat McBriar. The talent in Dallas is exceptional and the NCS is fortunate to have Chris Shaw of KICKNATION as one of our top associates. Knowing Shaw works with kickers, punters and long snappers in the great state of Texas only ensures that the talent level there will always be one of the best.

Go here for more on the NCS Dallas Championship Camp at Husteds blog Michael

Husted says the NCS Championship Kicking Camps are a new addition to the kicking camps series offered by the National Camp Series (NCS).

This full day camp is a nice addition to our National Camp Series which includes our Divisional Evaluation Events and our annual Super Camp, says Husted. This event included our proprietary Kicking Index Evaluation (KIX), professional instruction by NFL players and it will conclude with competition in field goals, kickoffs, punts and long snapping.

Go here for more on the upcoming NCS Championship Kickng Camp in Chicago on June, 22, 2013.

Husted, who kicked in the NFL for 9 years, says the Dallas Championship Camp is a great opportunity for high school specialists to get instruction from coaches of the highest caliber, and to be evaluated objectively.

Having the opportunity to get instruction by retired NFL players who have succeeded at all levels of football, be accurately and fairly evaluated using our Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, and getting to compete will ensure that this camp will be the most comprehensive camp available, says Husted.

Husted says the Dallas NCS Championship Kicking Camp was a one-day event that provided:

An official evaluation using NCS' objective and proprietary Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System.

Professional instruction by retired NFL kickers and punters who coach specialists on a regular basis.

Competition that teaches you to manage pressure situations.

Awards provided by Wizard Kicking.

An opportunity to get selected for the US Army All American Game.

Husted says the goal of all NCS events, including the Dallas Championship Camp, is to help high school students develop their skills, and help position and prepare them to be, college athletes.

These Championship Kicking Camps are an integral part of the complete NCS system which objectively rates players for colleges and universities by utilizing its unique Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, says Husted. Having collected data from our events over the past 10 years, our algorithm takes key variables into account when computing our ratings.

The NCS levels the playing field for those who don't want to get caught up in all of the 'politics' that occurs in the kicking industry, says Husted. If you can kick, punt or snap, the NCS KIX system will let a young kicking specialists skills speak for themselves. No excuses. No explanations."

Dallas, Texas uses innovative QR Code Scavenger Hunt to Increase Destination Awareness

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 23, 2012

When the Dallas Visitors Bureau and the Omni Hotel came together to highlight the great locations in Dallas for over 300 event planners they used a familiar game that many love to play. The game, traditionally known as scavenger hunt, has now evolved into a high-tech mobile phone interactive that is played by scanning QR codes with a Smartphone. The game is called SCANVenger Hunt and it is currently being used by destination management companies, mall properties and even PepsiCo to educate people in a high-tech exciting fashion.

Users who register to play the game are able to scan QR codes hidden within various locations at a destination. Once they have scanned the code with their Smartphone they are then prompted to answer a trivia question or perform as task to earn points for prizes. Questions are usually tied to the location, product or brand to help educate users while creating a deeper level of engagement. The platform supports rich media so you can even create questions or tasks in the form of a video or audio.

The SCANVenger Hunt helped our guests learn more about Dallas and it was an excellent solution for our grand opening here at the Omni, said Amy Jackson, Marketing Director at Omni Dallas Hotel.

There were six destinations that participated in the Dallas SCANVenger Hunt which included; The Omni Dallas Hotel, The Cowboys Stadium, Texas Motor Speedway, Southfork Ranch, The Sixth Floor Museum and The Great American Golf Course.

It was lots of fun and it created interaction and competition between players, stated Christina, Director of Guest Services. It definitely was a great experience for our visitors this week and we are happy that it was a part of our event, she continued.

It was amazing to see how the process went viral as more and more attendees learned about the ScanVenger hunt and joined the fun, said Kevin Cassis, Omni guest. What was more amazing was the way the process engaged the attendees to not only seek out the QR codes in places they might not have gone without the incentive but also encouraging them to interact with presenters and exhibitors to get answers to questions in the challenge, he continued.

SCANVenger Hunts create synergy by allowing players to see their progress as well as their competitors. Players are able to view their course completion percentage and the number of points theyve earned along the way. Our platform is a mobile optimized web-based application therefore it works with all phone types and portable devices, stated Sean Fields, co-founder of SCANVenger Hunt. This enables a better experience for the user considering that they do not have to download a game app, he added.

The SCANVenger Hunt platform can be licensed per event or for the year. When a host city or venue licenses the platform they are equipped with all they need to get started. This includes platform admin portal, QR code window clings and any additional elements they may want to add to their package like T-shirts, posters, pillows, pop up banners etc. The host also receives all of the aggregated data during the event such as scan activity, location impressions and player information.

Dallas Hosts Nation?s Leading Security Experts at TakeDownCon

Dallas Hosts Nation’s Leading Security Experts at TakeDownCon

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 18, 2011

Over 30 leading security researchers will present their latest discoveries at TakeDownCon, EC-Council’s new technical IT security conference series, in Dallas, May 18-19. TakeDownCon will showcase the latest research in security issues ranging from mobile banking fraud malware, to weaponized, espionage-ready mobile devices and SMS-controlled smart phone botnets.

Featured presentations include:

Dani Creus, of S21sec, shows a real bank fraud case in which man-in-the-mobile attacks were used to captures the mTANs (mobile Transaction Authorization Numbers) that a bank sends to a customer via SMS, in order to authenticate financial transactions. The attack does this by covertly transmitting all of the SMS messages on the victim’s phone to a phone in the possession of a criminal.

Georgia Weidman, of Reverse Space, demonstrates the use of transparent SMS to command and control botnets made up of zombie smart phones that have been taken over by malware, without the victims’ knowledge. She looks at the ways attackers would get the botnet malware onto the smart phone, as well as what they can do once they’re in control.

Shawn Merdinger, of the University of Florida, describes how mobile devices are ideally suited to act as low-cost, low-power espionage devices, innocuously capturing audio and video. From smart phones, to iPods, to home wireless routers, he shows how easy it is to turn consumers products into surveillance tools.

Sean Bodmer shows how deception and disinformation can be used to lure attackers into monitored honeynets that can build “digital dossiers” of criminal groups, which can then be passed along to law enforcement. Despite these proactive techniques, he also discusses the reasons why criminals continue to be successful.

Scott Moulton discusses how the architecture of SSDs (Solid State Drives) complicates forensic examination and can make data recovery painfully difficult, due to purging algorithms that reset areas of the drive without instruction of the computer or knowledge of the user. As an expert witness in numerous court cases, from child pornography to homicide, he also looks at the impact this has on criminal and civil cases.

Day 1 will also see the following cutting-edge presentations:

Josh Shaul and Alex Rothacker explore the various techniques hackers use to invade enterprise databases.
Sean Arries demonstrates techniques and automated methodologies for finding web application vulnerabilities.
Dillon Beresford and Brian Meixell demonstrate how to build industrial grade SCADA malware without access to the target hardware.
Jayson E. Street discusses easy and cheap social engineering strategies that he’s used on assignments and the financial ruin that victim’s can incur because of it.
Francis Brown discusses tools for hacking the Google and Bing search engines to identify vulnerable systems and sensitive data in corporate networks.
Rodrigo Rubira Branco discusses architecture for conducting automated malware analysis.
Zachary Wolff examines the use of logs for analyzing malware, as well as the effects of hardware-based botnets and physical penetration.
Tim Shelton demonstrates a new methodology for breaking into critical IBM AIX UNIX operating systems.
Joseph McCray shows how SQL injection, cross-site scripting, and file handling vulnerabilities can be used to get command-line access.
Shane Lawson and Babak Javadi demonstrate the custom tools and specialized techniques used to pick high security mechanical locks.

Day 2 will wrap things up with dual attack and defense tracks:

Andrew Whitaker demonstrates a live SEH (Structured Exception Handler) remote shell exploit that gains remote access to a server via stack-based buffer overflows.
Justin Searle examines how the increased functionality and complexity of the Smart Grid can increase the potential for compromise by attackers.
Wayne Burke shows the latest techniques, weapons, and payloads that attackers are using to target hardened government systems.
Dave Chronister discusses a first-hand Trojan attack investigation, from initial detection to eventual neutralization.
Bobak Jack Mortazavi demonstrates tools and techniques for stealing or manipulating data stored in medical devices, from EKGs to pulse oximeters.
Robert Rounsavall discusses advances in trusted computing, trusted execution, and hardware validation.
Tim Pierson examines techniques for installing malware, accessing the kernel, and installing a root kit, simply by plugging in a USB device.
Michael Berman looks at ways to stop worms, malicious insiders, and other attacks within a virtual data center.
Edward Haletky shows how data flows through a hypervisor and how this is used to build secure hypervisor, virtual, and cloud environments.
Kevin Cardwell demonstrates how forensics is applied to live data, by dissecting processes and analyzing RAM images.
Chuck Easttom discusses the various methods of steganography, alternative mediums, such as steganophony, and his own contribution, distributed steganography.
Paymon Yamini Sharif discusses a philosophical approach to better assessing risk and information security in general.

EC-Council President Jay Bavisi, along with Tim Rosenberg, will close the event by introducing the brand new “Global Cyberlympics” as an exercise for unifying global cyber defense.

TakeDownCon Dallas, taking place May 18th and 19th, at the InterContinental Dallas, will mark the premiere of EC-Council’s new technical IT security conference series, which will be hosted again in Las Vegas this December. Dallas Tx – AmStar Systems Develops Dual Video Display for Kiosk Advertising

Dallas Tx - AmStar Systems Develops Dual Video Display for Kiosk Advertising

Carrollton, TX (PRWEB) August 18, 2005

AmStar Systems, Inc., a Texas company known for being an innovator, developer, and manufacturer of the unattended multi-function financial kiosk, announces another technological breakthrough.

AmStar has developed a unique process for providing a dual video display capability from a single CPU. This process will enable the AmStar eca$ hier® financial service kiosk to display two different screen contents simultaneously. One screen displays a graphical user interface giving customers access to a multitude of financial products while the second screen provides video streaming of advertising content from a remote advertising web site.

“The uniqueness of this,” explained Robert G. Farris, Sr., President and CEO, “is that AmStar has developed the dual video technique which uses a single computer to serve two different display units. This technique creates constantly streaming advertising data that can be remotely changed on demand.”

The kiosk graphic user interface screen is a 10.4” LCD touch sensitive screen panel with a 640 x 480 resolution integrated into the financial kiosk, while the advertising screen is a 19” LCD screen high resolution display mounted above the AmStar eca$ hier®.

The advertising display is connected to an advertising web site for certain eca$ hiers® with selective rotating advertising content, which is determined by the advertisers requirements. This innovative advertising concept is self-sustaining so that it can be live at all times. However, we anticipated that periodically the communication link will be broken so we searched for a solution to avoid an interruption in the flow of advertising,” continued Farris. “We developed a technique to automatically and seamlessly display the advertising content on the eca$ hier until communication is re-established. The system then automatically reconnects to the remote website to continue the streaming of advertising content.”

In addition to creating more revenues for the kiosk owner, the brightly colored streaming ads will also serve to attract customers to the kiosk where they can become acquainted with the machine and its functionality.

TI’s prestigious Supplier Excellence Award (SEA) honors firms whose dedication and commitment in supplying products and services meet or exceed TI's high standards for excellence. Recipients are an elite group of suppliers chosen for their exemplary performance in the areas of cost, environmental responsibility, technology, responsiveness, assurance of supply, and quality. This year, only 18 of TI’s 18,000 suppliers worldwide received the award.

Members of TI's Worldwide Procurement and Logistics group presented the award to the Belcan TechServices Dallas team on May 1, 2006.
