Illinois Expands Simplifile E-Recording in Coles County

COLES COUNTY, Ill. (PRWEB) December 17, 2013

Simplifile, the nation’s largest electronic recording (e-recording) service provider, announced today that recording customers may now e-record documents through Simplifile in Coles County, Ill.

Customers range from title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers to government agencies throughout the state and even some national submitters who traditionally send land documents to the Coles County recorder’s office by mail or courier service.

“Instead of driving to the courthouse or using the mail, customers can submit their documents directly from their computer, saving time and money on postage or fuel,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “The time-saving factor is probably the biggest reason thousands of people have switched to e-recording, as documents can be recorded in minutes with Simplifile, as opposed to waiting several days or even weeks for the mail.”

With Simplifile’s online service, documents can be scanned, uploaded, and prepared for submission to the recorder’s office. These “electronic versions” of the original, paper documents are received in real-time by the county, reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned to the submitter.

Recording fees are also paid electronically via Automated Clearing House (ACH), eliminating the need for checks and reducing the occurrence of check fraud.

“E-Recording is more secure and definitely more convenient for both the county and its customers,” Clifford said.

Coles County is the 16th Illinois county to begin e-recording with Simplifile.

NAPW Loudoun County Local Chapter President Jennifer Jank kicked off the Chapter meeting by welcoming the attendees. She distributed NAPW Welcome Packets, Pads and Pins to the new members and welcomed those members who were present at the Chapters launch in March.

Members and guests went around the table and introduced themselves. In addition to their introductions, the group of professional women shared networking tips with each other.

This was the second meeting of the Loudoun County Local Chapter, said Chapter President Jank. It was a very productive meeting for the new Chapter!

Several of the members were eager for the upcoming national NAPW National Networking Conference that was to be held three days after the breakfast meeting. In addition to anticipating the presentations and keynote speeches from Martha Steward and Arianna Huffington, they intended to spend some additional time enjoying the opportunity to visit New York City the weekend following the Friday all-day conference. Those members going promised to bring back stories for those who were unable to make it.

During the breakfast meeting, members and guests discussed the upcoming charitable event possibilities that the Loudoun Chapter could support, eventually deciding on the Cascades Firechase and 911 Fun Run on May 25th that will benefit the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company. The run will be the charitable event for the second quarter of the year, and the Chapter will seek suggestions for ongoing charitable events as well.

We agreed that charities local to Loudoun County, or at least those that have a local effect, are preferable for the charitable activities that we will support, said Chapter President Jennifer Jank.

The members are excited to give back to the community on a regular basis.

Crazy 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Fighter and Howard County Native, Jon Delbrugge Makes His Professional Mixed Martial Arts Debut

Elkridge, MD (PRWEB) October 13, 2012

Former Operation Octagon Amateur Lightweight Champion Jon Delbrugge has scored six consecutive victories en route to a two-year dominant reign atop the east coast's amateur MMA circuit. On Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Dulles Sportsplex in Sterling, VA the international grappling standout returns to the cage as a professional looking to pick up where he left off as an amateur against a very tough Steven Wampler.

Delbrugge has been training and working full time at the academy where he began his career at four years ago. Jon credits all of his accomplishments directly to his coach who is also the owner of Crazy 88 Mixed Martial Arts Academy, Julius Park.

Jon has been training in a professional environment following the normal protocols that all of the guys adhere to in the Team Lloyd Irvin system. It is no surprise that he was able to do well in the amateur ranks. We expect him to do the same at the pro level. Of course, its a different game at the top end of the sport but he has been putting in the work and traveling and competing at the international level in other martial arts like grappling and Jiu-Jitsu. All he has to do is keep it up." Said Park.

Boasting numerous international medals from tournaments all over the world in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the explosive Delbrugge (6-0 as a amateur in MMA) is looking to establish himself in the professional MMA world. He is set to take on his toughest challenge to date in the very experienced but also debuting as a pro, Steve Wampler (9-5 as a amateur in MMA). Having submitted his last opponent via arm bar in his last outing as an amateur, the hard nosed Wampler has shown he has the durability and experience to silence any critics and defeat the seemingly unstoppable Delbrugge.

I'm excited to officially start my pro career close to home in front of my family and friends. Delbrugge said. Steve Wampler is a super tough guy. He has pretty good striking and his grappling is also good. I respect the fact that he has a lot of experience and has been competing in MMA for a long time. Although everything we have done as amateurs means absolutely nothing now that we are pros I am very excited for this opportunity and I am sure this will be a great fight.

There has been much anticpation regarding Delbrugge and his MMA career. In todays world fighters try their hardest to explode up through the ranks in hopes of the UFC. But Delbrugge was the exact opposite. Honing his skills in each individual area of MMA. He spent the majority of the last four years traveling the world competing in the art of submission grappling/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Orange County Classroom gets Greenovated

Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) September 13, 2012

School professionals have long wanted to go green but many required more factual proof and research, showing that the benefits of green schoolsbetter air quality, higher test scores, lower utility bills, etc.were in fact measurable and achievable. The Orange County Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC-OC) along with Irvine-based school design experts, LPA Inc., took action to greenovate, or retrofit, a typical classroom at a local public school. The goal: to create a life-sized model, a green classroom, and test it against a conventional classroom, sans green upgrades, next door. The idea has become a reality at the Davis Magnet School in Costa Mesa, Calif. Design of the greenovation kicked off last November, construction began this July, and completion of the retrofit has come just in time for the inaugural Green Apple Day of Service, on Sept. 29, 2012.

The economic environment that our public schools operate in is challenging, said Wendy Rogers, Chair of the USGBC-OC Green Schools Committee and Design Principal at LPA. As a mother of two, and someone who designs K-12 schools for a living, I understand the challengesand dwindling budgetsour schools are facing. I also know that with 55 million Americans spending six hours a day (or more) in school facilities, we must do a better job creating positive educational environments. Outdated buildings, with little access to daylight, outdated fixtures, and poor ventilation, do little to prepare todays learners for the future.

With the launch of this green classroom experiment, students at Davis Magnet get the opportunity to learn, first-hand, about their school building, how their actions in the classroom affect their environment, and how they can have an impact on their schools bottom lineboth financially and environmentally.

The greenovated classroom has been gutted, insulated, and equipped with high-performance lighting that "harvests" daylight, environmentally friendly flooring and furnishings, wireless submeters (for monitoring utility usage), and a new ventilation system. All paints and finishes have high recyclable contents and low levels of volatile organic compounds. Positioned next to a conventional classroom, the retrofitted space will be used in an experiment that compares energy use between the two rooms. The retrofitted version will serve as an "active environment" where pupils will learn how to measure HVAC loads, monitor utility usage, and understand the importance of simple moves like turning off the lights before leaving an empty room.

Its all very scientific, continues Rogers. The conventional classroom has controls that have been in place since December to establish a baseline of energy use, pre-renovation, so we have the facts and figures of where we started and can see, with numbers, how much the greenovation improves performance.

Rogers said she hopes the classroom retrofit will raise awareness of the value of environmentally friendly classrooms in a county where just eight schools in 38 public school districts are considered green.

For the Green Apple Day of Service, Rogers and other members of the USGBC-OC will join teachers, parents and students to celebrate this noteworthy milestone in the Green Classroom movementthe completion of this classrooms retrofit and beginning of the social experiment to come. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012, guests will gather at the Davis Magnet School for tours, green apples, and lemonade.

The greenovation has been funded through in-kind donations from a slew of private companiesat zero cost to the Davis Magnet School. LPA committed the time of a dozen school designers, along with financial support, to see this project come to fruition. The company has a long history of promoting greener, healthier buildings in Southern Californiahaving completed its first green building in the 1980sand having designed more than 100 K-12 schools. Other donors involved with the project include: Disney, McCarthy Building Companies, and Sunbelt Controls. For a full list of sponsors, please visit Davis Magnet School Greenovate.

About Davis Magnet School

Davis Magnet School was selected based on the work that the K-6 institution was already doing to create a greener campus environment. The school has gardens; the students and teachers use composting; and the classrooms are oriented in a way that allowed designers to take advantage of natural sunlightelements that came together to create the right environment for a green classroom project.

As a science, math, and technology magnet school, this is a perfect fit for us because Davis Magnet School really emphasizes hands on, inquiry-based learning and real live experimentation, said Dr. Kevin Rafferty, Principal of Davis Magnet School. To involve two of our classrooms, where well have a controlled classroom and an experimental classroom, and all of the measurements, and data, and information thats producedwill not only benefit the scientific researchers, but also be fully available to us, as teachers and students, here at the school. The kids will be able to analyze the data, work with it, and look for differences, trends, and patterns. It will be much more meaningful because its happening here, and theyre involved with it. NAPW Ft. Worth/Tarrant County Local Chapter Raised Money for Female Veterans at and Hosted Marketing Pro

Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 11, 2012

Members and guests of the NAPW Ft. Worth/Tarrant County Local Chapter gathered together for professional networking meetings this summer. The group raised money for female veterans by selling their jewelry and members and guests got expert tips from marketing professional Whitney Holdens presentation, Brand 101.

A company that buys gold and silver was present and members and guests were able to have their jewelry weighed. After being quoted a fair price, members and guests could choose to sell their pieces to the company. A percentage of the proceeds from the sales was donated to the Chapters charity of choice, Grace After Fire. Members and guests raised $ 200 for the nonprofit organization that helps women veterans ease back into civilian life in the United States.

Whatever their need, Grace After Fire makes every effort to meet it, and we are happy to be able to help, said Ft. Worth/Tarrant County Local Chapter President Mae Hoover. Two of our members volunteered to answer phones to just talk to the women who need a listening ear.

A member from the organization was at the Chapter meeting to accept the generous donation and talk to members and guests about the important work it does. According to the representative, 20,000 women veterans live in Texas, 300,000 live in the United States, 25% are unemployed, and many are injured.

It was an inspiring presentation. In fact, the man from the gold-buying company put in some of his own money to further the cause, said Mae.

Whitney Holden, volunteered to help Mae with social media. Whitney is a graphic artist and already does social media for the company where she works, so she will certainly be an asset to the Chapter.

At the Chapters August networking meeting, Mae spoke a bit about NAPW and its membership benefits. She also announced that Toni Allison won an award for outstanding community service.

In addition to the networking portion of the meeting, where members and guests had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses, Whitney Holden took the floor and began her presentation, Brand 101. She covered the basics of branding, as it is geared toward small business owners and independent contractors who dont always have the opportunity to consult an expert.

A brand is so much more than a logo. A poorly run business with a beautiful logo wont have a strong brand and vice-versa, Whitney told the crowd. From your side, everything you do for (and in) your business is your brand. From the customers side, its how they feel about your business.

Whitney told the crowd to start thinking about how to present their brand, by answering the following questions:

Who are you?

There are hundreds if not thousands of people in the area that can do what you do. But none of them are you, she said. Its proven that people do business with those they know, like, and trust; you need to be yourself. Tell them what you do, how you do it, and embrace practices that are uniquely you.

Where did you come from?

Geographically, people prefer to work with those who are near to them. Figuratively, always let your prospects and clients know your professional background if it lends credibility to your cause, she went on. Let them know how you came into your current position or started your business. This is a great way to make an impression and show that you can work hard.

What do I stand for?

Do brands like Nike, TOMS, and Apple have anything in common? There are other huge competitors in the sports apparel, shoe, and technology industries, so why are these companies successful? Whitney asked. Because their messaging has a strong, simple and consistent underlying message: Victory (Nike), Giving (TOMS), and Innovation (Apple).

Whitney concluded her presentation with the following advice:

If you dont have a clear cause, pick a word for your brand and use it to guide your decisions. You could even choose a set of traits, as though your brand was a person.

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) is the largest and most recognized network of female professionals. NAPW provides a forum where women can interact, exchange ideas, educate, network, and empower. NAPW Local Chapters allow members to maximize their experience through meetings, networking opportunities, and professional events.
