Author Your VCD/SVCD using Real-Time Video Editing with EasyMPEG

(PRWEB) October 20, 2004

DigitalView has released version 3.1.2 of EasyMPEG,an PC-based software package that can real-time edit and author your VCD/SVCD more easily and efficiently.

Maybe you have a DV camcorder to record the life scene, and want to save the content as VCD/SVCD,EasyMPEG can help you to edit your video file in a short time, and then create the video disc by yourself.

MPEG is the compress format of video file for VCD/SVCD and DVDs. After save your video to disk as .mpg file,EasyMPEG will show the mpeg file on your disk as a thumbnail list. EasyMPEG use a "Virtual-Play" technique to preview the content during the editing operation, this feature is very useful and exciting because you nearly see the result immediately after the edit and without any time-consuming. EasyMPEG just produce the new file after you had finished all editing. You will find that select several scene to build a new 600MB video file only have 5 minutes taken.EasyMPEG also support .dat file on VCD/SVCD and .vob file on DVD,which means you can add more stuff into you own file.

EasyMPEG has two mode to author your VCD/SVCD:"Sequence Mode" and "Menu Mode". I would like using "Nenu Mode" to create the disc because it can design very complicated multi-level menu. Not merely a static picture, the dynamic video file can be served as a control menus too. EasyMPEG still be able to use a picture array and background music become menu node. Sometimes you may only want to make a disc with simple that time,"Sequence Mode" is suitable. Under this mode,EasyMPEG can split the content to several discs to fit the capacity of disc automatically.

This software has another useful feature include view the detail of video file and demultiplex the mpeg stream. You will found EasyMPEG is a useful tool to work together with your DV camcorder.

EasyMPEG runs under Windows 98/NT/2000/XP,requires a PC with PIII500 or higher CPU,at least 64MB Ram. EasyMPEG costs $ 29.95. You can purchase EasyMPEG online at, or download a free trial version from the same address.

Author Elizabeth Evans Helps Readers Rediscover African History

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 11, 2014

With the use of computers, digital records and endless amount social media platforms to share and disseminate the most personal of information, anyone in today’s world can chronicle every detail, every second of their lives. How does this compare to civilizations of the past, where languages were first developing and the written word was impossible to keep preserved?

It varies from culture to culture, however, African history was recorded orally by men called griots. Griots were trained from boyhood to remember and recite the reigns of all the chiefs and kings of the empire. Each major chief and king had his own griot who committed to memory all of the important events of the chief or king’s reign.

“If you don’t know where you come from you can’t know where you’re going is something that can be said of many young African-Americans who believe that their history begins with American slavery and consequently, believe that they are ‘less than’,” said Elizabeth Evans, author of “Sanakhou.”

“This feeling of ‘less than’ results in anger and hopelessness. Giving African-American youth a sense of pride about their African heritage before slavery could present additional and different heroes for a generation in need of pride and positive role models,” Evans continued.

Evans is no stranger to the benefits of a strong, influential role model. Her father gifted her with a passion for black history and surrounded her by the books in his library growing up, which at the time was considered the best private collection of books on African and African-American history in the country. Evans’ father gained success as he creator of the first African-American comic book in the US. It is now part of the collection at the latest Smithsonian museum, The Museum of African-American History.

Spiffy Press Custom Designs Letterpress Business Stationery For Best-Selling Author Deborah Harkness

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) October 10, 2013

Spiffy Press, a graphic design and letterpress printing studio that focuses solely on custom design, creates business stationery for best-selling author Deborah Harkness’ book tour.

The complete, custom-designed stationery suite includes: business card, letterhead, second sheet, envelope, mailing label, note card, bookplate and a New Year’s greeting card. The ensemble was replicated in two colors: blue for use in the U.K., red for the U.S. Both versions use a touch of metallic ink in a transparent base to give the Ouroboros snake a little shadow-of-the-night glow.

The large stationery set was required for Harkness’ book tour last year. The USC Europe and science history teacher created the The All Souls Trilogy, including A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night, which have found their place on the New York Times Best-Seller List, with Witches slated for a movie deal.

"Deborah’s love of wine and 17th century history, including study of magic and science in Europe, was an excellent platform to research her logo graphics," said Scott Wallin, Owner and Graphic Designer/Printer, Spiffy Press. "Everything from the fonts to imagery was inspired by the era and the books’ storylines."

Wallin hand-mixed custom inks, then hand-printed the stationery system on a Vandercook 219 letterpress. Each piece uses eco-friendly, tree-free Crane’s Lettra 100% cotton paper in various weights. Hand-finishing details include: rounded corners, scoring, folding and 3M adhesive on the bookplates.

About Spiffy Press

Spiffy Press custom designs and prints letterpress business stationery, business cards, personal stationery, wedding and party invitations and announcements.

Established in 2008 with the purchase of a Vandercook 219 letterpress, Spiffy Press broadened graphic designer Scott Wallin’s capabilities. A California Institute of the Arts graduate, Scott has been art directing and designing for over 25 years.

Best Selling Author Vince Stanzione Introduces the World to the Latest Business Go-Getters, The New Olderpreneurs

Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) July 02, 2013

Best selling author, Vince Stanzione, recently introduced his followers to the latest group of business overachievers: the New Olderpreneurs. Stanzione, the author of the New York Times best seller, "The Millionaire Dropout: Fire Your Boss, Do What You Love And Reclaim Your Life" (Wiley; May 2013) has been analyzing those who start their own companies and become their own bosses and in the past it was most common for entrepreneurs to be young go-getters. Most people think of the founders of start-ups as young guys in a basement writing computer code while they eat cold pizza, Stanzione said. They would be wrong; because today it is the over 50s who are powering the next wave of business start-ups.

Stanzione has dubbed these mature business owners New Olderpreneurs and he attributes their rise to several factors. First, the recent economic upheaval has forced many older people to fend for themselves as firms let older workers go in great numbers. These workers had no choice but to use their vast experience to start their own businesses when they were unable to find work in the corporate world. Second, many older workers are simply tired of working for someone else and with modern technology allowing start-ups to launch with relatively small costs, these restless workers feel now is the time to take the plunge. Finally, workers well beyond 50 are entering the game because they have found that retirement savings is not enough to live on or they are simply bored and want to get back into the mix.

Stanzione finds this trend fascinating and has spent a great deal of time analyzing these Olderpreneurs and the types of businesses they are starting. Almost all of the start-ups created by these older workers are founded in their years of experience working in the corporate world. Many start businesses sharing their knowledge with others through seminars and webinars and Stanzione has found that there is a big demand for this type of service as younger workers rush to soak up the knowledge these older workers have.

Many of these older workers spent their careers as problem solvers and the ability to solve problems of all types is in great demand. Busy executives are eager to hand their complex problems to someone who can find the solution. Companies that let older workers offer advice or act as virtual assistants are some of the most common types that older workers focus on. Stanzione has found that older workers are also much more eager to learn new skills than most people give them credit for and that has opened up opportunities in website design, online planning and advice services and even financial traders and investors. In fact Stanzione has seen a dramatic uptick in the number of people over 50 who have signed up for his classes on trading.

Given the emergence of Olderpreneurs, Stanzione has some advice for these go-getters:

Think about what skills to offer the market and look for what people want.
Test a new business in a small way by placing a Google ad word advertisement or classified advertisement if its a local business. That is a cost effective way to get started.
Be market driven not product or service driven look for niche markets and make sure there is a demand. Always remember that people are being asked to part with their money.
Learn to network and call in favors. Use existing contacts and convert them to clients.
Highlight age and experience; they are the New Olderpreneurs best assets. Age and experience may be a hindrance in looking for a job these days, but they are golden when trying to attract clients who want a person with the most expertise.
Concentrate on areas of expertise and outsource the rest. Some are strong at sales but not administrative tasks.
Access teaching tools like Stanziones book "The Millionaire Dropout: Fire Your Boss, Do What You Love, Reclaim Your Life" which offers excellent advice and guidance to those striking out on their own.

Engineer and Author James OKon likes announcement of MOOCs at Georgia Tech

Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) December 31, 2012

In the over forty years since he attended Georgia Tech, James Okon has seen many aspects of engineering and technology change. Now, as the author of a book on ancient Maya technology, he is seeing changes occur in how technology is taught. OKon says, Many things about my two favorite subjects, technology and the Maya, are hard to describe in words. Often the concepts require images as well as words for people to find them understandable. This is true for my book, The Lost Secrets of Maya Technology. So when my friend, Dr. Mark Van Stone, created an interactive version of his book 2012: Science and Prophecy of the Ancient Maya, I saw this as a great teaching tool for engineering.

The interactive iBook addresses only one student at a time but greater benefits can come from teaching complex engineering classes online with the visual aids that an online class can offer. My Alma mater, Georgia Tech, has been chosen to create massive open online courses or MOOCs for introductory engineering classes. I feel this concept will change how we teach science and technology. We will see this type of technology used so that complex subjects can be presented in visual ways allowing teachers to reach students as never before. More of my thoughts on this and other educational technology subjects like edX and MOOCs are in my Blog on my website.

James OKon has pursued a lifelong passion for the engineering, sciences and technology of the Maya. In his role as an archaeo-engineer he has combined his unique professional engineering experience with the search for lost Maya technology. After years of collecting field data, obtained by traveling in dugout canoes, hacking his way through the jungle and sleeping in tents, he was able to use his forensic engineering skills, along with modern digital tools, to reveal the mysteries of lost Maya technology.

His discoveries in Maya technology have been recognized by, among other publications, National Geographic Magazine and in a production on The History Channel. He has delivered scientific papers dealing with his discoveries in Maya technologies at international engineering and archaeological symposia and presented his discoveries to the Explorers Club in New York City. His explorations and discoveries of Maya technology have been documented in his book, The Lost Secrets of Maya Technology.

Author Richard Bingy Brown returns to the literary world with his gripping work of fiction, Double Standards

United Kingdom (PRWEB) January 19, 2013

Richard Bingy Brown, author of the action thriller Living the Dream, returns to the literary world with the new novel, Double Standards. In this gripping work of fiction, he invites readers to examine the complexity of human relationships in light of the experiences of a group of people bound and broken by love and lust, betrayal, murder, loyalty, desire and deception.

At the center of this intricate fable that sizzles with sex and Browns signature blend of fact and fiction, are men and women who dare to examine the deepest chambers of the heart and psyche. There is strong-willed, 29-year-old Soneyah; the feisty Sylvia; Shevaughn, whose love and devotion to her husband did not spare her 10-year marriage from the pain of infidelity; Asia, a 24-year old single mother of three and Rosemary, whose adolescence marred by sexual abuse makes it almost impossible for her to trust men. These women are uniquely different but they are bound to one another by their negative experiences with men and their determination to give their male counterparts a taste of their own medicine.

On another layer of the story are four men, Rayman, Luke, Knuckles and Hives, who will not let anything get in the way of their faithlessness and womanizing- even their own partners. The end of their odyssey of discovery will reveal to each character unexpected destinies and a stunning truth about themselves and those they love.

Witty, sharp and thoroughly engaging, Double Standards is a searing story of life peopled by broken yet real souls on the road to discovering redemption and what it truly means to love.
