Ace Computers Delivers Custom High Performance Computing to Leading Physics Analyst

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 27, 2013

Ace Computers, one of the finest custom technology manufacturers in the U.S., has been tagged by a leading computational physics analysis organization to provide custom high performance computers including core clusters, visualization post-processing machines, development workstations, networking, and storage.

Ace Computers CEO John Samborski said, “They chose us because we work closely with companies, like Intel, that they respect and that we are cost competitive. We are on the same page, which is the basis for a close collaborative relationship and they trust us to provide exactly what they want.”

The organization provides computational physics analysis, such as fluid dynamics, shock wave physics, and structural mechanics, to support the defense and automotive industries. They maintain a 5,000-CPU parallel supercomputer system capable of conducting a massive number of large-scale computations annually. The organization also develops prototype hardware for incorporation into existing and emerging weapon systems.

As a test, the organization first ordered an Intel-based HPC 584 core cluster with QDR IB from Ace Computers. Once they were satisfied, they initiated a full-scale purchase. Among the many benefits the organization cited of working with a smaller technology manufacturer are that they really get to know each client’s business and they are accessible. They also noted that Ace Computers is highly experienced, competent, and has a good reputation. The organization’s CEO added that he has recommended Ace Computers many times because of the value and service—which is just about everything that most people are looking for—and so hard to find--- in a custom technology manufacturer.

Samborski said, “It’s the ability level of our employees that makes us so successful. Our clients have good reason to trust us because we have a good track record. There are not that many companies that can design and implement high level data centers.”

Acknowledged as the best custom technology manufacturer, Ace Technology Partners (Ace Computers) is a Woman-Owned Small Business custom technology systems manufacturer and reseller for the public sector as well as the commercial sector. Their channel partners include Intel, Supermicro, InfiniBand, NVIDIA, Mellanox and Samsung among others. It has been an industry leader since 1983. In addition to some of the finest academic institutions in the U.S., long-term clients include the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Defense. Ace Computers builds custom technology with the same components that top manufacturers use without the premium price. Its principal, recognized industry expert John Samborski, is an alumnus of Intel’s prestigious board of advisors. In addition to its Greater Chicago headquarters, Ace Computers has locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Idaho, and Nevada. Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan Asks of LG and Samsung Curved Smartphone Screen, Is There a There, There?

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 28, 2013

Both LG Electronics Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. have announced their entry into the curved smartphone screen market, says Reuters on Oct 28. The piece also says Apple could be next.

Tech analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.

“I have two things to say about this astounding new curved smartphone screen technology being introduced so far by both Samsung and LG. One is that this is amazing and looks very advanced. Two is why? What’s the point? Is there a there, there?” asks Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.

“These companies must see market value in curved and eventually flexible screen technologies for their smarpthones. However besides the fact that this sounds interesting, what’s the point?” asks Industry analyst Kagan.

“There has been quite a bit of talk about the coming wave of curved smartphone screens, however there has not been a lot of talk about what we will be able to do with them. That must be the focus of both the media relations and public relations efforts of companies going forward. Currently there are many more questions than answers,” says Kagan.

“There must be a there, there. Let’s hope both LG and Samsung start talking about what these curved smartphone screens will do for us. Otherwise this whole endeavor will be nothing more than just talk. And that would be a shame,” warns Kagan.

This Reuters report also says there is talk about Apple preparing to enter this curved screen space. “If so this could mean that executives really see a big future in this design. What that future is however is not being translated well to the market place. There is quite a bit of work ahead for the marketing departments of these companies. Let’s hope there really is a there, there,” says Kagan.

Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan on US Cellular Selling iPhone Nov 8, Finally

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 23, 2013

Regional wireless carrier U.S. Cellular now plans to sell iPhones for the first time on Nov. 8, according to the trade, Twice, Oct 21.

Tech analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.

“Congratulations to US Cellular on offering the iPhone for the first time. This is what your customers will want and this should help you hang onto customers rather than losing them to competitors who do offer the phone,” says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.

“US Cellular has been through quite a bit of ups and down in recent years. Suddenly things seem to be looking up a bit. Let’s hope they can keep heading in that same direction,” says Industry analyst Kagan.

“US Cellular has stayed away from the iPhone until now because of Apple’s tough financial demands. US Cellular thought they could do just fine without the iPhone. Then after they recovered they could consider it. Well quite a bit of water has gone under that bridge and changes have occurred,” says Kagan.

“New CEO, new strategy and now the new iPhone will be available from US Cellular. Kenneth Meyers has only been CEO of US Cellular since June, but I have been impressed so far. Let’s hope he can repair the company and lead it to growth once again,” says Kagan.

Now the iPhone is available from a variety of players including AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, C Spire Wireless and now US Cellular. “I expect the iPhone will continue to be offered on smaller carriers as time goes on,” says Kagan.

Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan on T-Mobile USA Impressive Quarter

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 08, 2013

T-Mobile USA reported their quarterly numbers today, as reported in Reuters, Aug 8.

Tech analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.

This is an impressive quarter, the first in a long time. T-Mobile USA has always been, well, that quiet company in the background, owned by foreigners, who didn't seem to fully understand the US marketplace. They have gone through several CEO's and management and have still not captured the imagination. However that may be changing, says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.

T-Mobile has just announced a very impressive quarter. Can they keep it up is the question on everyone's mind, says industry analyst Kagan.

T-Mobile's new CEO John Legere comes Global Crossing. He is a very up front, in your face CEO. Not a traditional, quiet, in the background CEO. He has brought several ideas to the market, which not only are transforming T-Mobile, but may transform segments of the entire wireless industry. If they are successful that is, says Kagan.

We'll keep our eyes on Legere and see what T-Mobile does going forward. They still have a long way to go. However so far, this quarter is impressive, says Kagan.

Tech Analyst Jeff Kagan on CenturyLink Prism TV Rollout

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 09, 2013

CenturyLink is a major local phone company, which is rolling out a new television service called Prism TV in competition with the cable television industry. Omaha.com reported on the service introduction to the Omaha metro area on June 8.

Telecom analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment on this story.

CenturyLink Chief Executive Officer Glen Post told analysts they have started selling their new Prism TV service in the Omaha area. Post said that CenturyLink had a total of 120,000 Prism TV subscribers. 13,400 were added in the first quarter.

CenturyLink, is like AT&T and Verizon. They are a local phone company. They acquired Qwest, the third largest local phone company. Now CenturyLink is the third largest local phone company. They have not been innovating as aggressively as AT&T and Verizon, but they are innovating. They are not moving into television and competing with the cable TV industry as rapidly as AT&T and Verizon, but they are moving into this space. Says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.

Glen Post says CenturyLink has an average market penetration of roughly 10 percent in the markets where Prism is available today, including Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and Raleigh. He said their Prism TV service continues to perform well. He said more than half of Prism TV customers added in the first quarter were new to CenturyLink.

Over the years, I have worked with most major local phone companies. I was initially disappointed with CenturyLink progress. However this is a very good start for them in the television side of the business. CenturyLink uses Internet technology to deliver television over IPTV. The industry continues to change and to innovate. Companies who dont innovate along with the changing industry risk falling behind. CenturyLink is moving in the right direction. Says analyst Kagan.

The hope is as CenturyLink competes with Cox Communications, Comcast and Time Warner, that prices could come down. I wont say this wont happen, but it has not happened in other areas around the country where AT&T and Verizon compete with cable TV either. So pricing may not come down, but competition does lead to more innovation and better quality and reliability of service. Companies never want to give customers a reason to unplug and go to a competitor. Says Kagan.

VaporStream Named “Cool Vendor” by Leading Analyst Firm

VaporStream Named "Cool Vendor" by Leading Analyst Firm

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 1, 2010

VaporStream, a leading provider of electronic conversation software, has been included in the list of "Cool Vendors in Healthcare Providers" published on April 2, 2010 by Jonathan Edwards et al of Gartner, Inc.

“It's an honor to be included in the Cool Vendor report by Gartner,” says VaporStream CEO Joseph Collins. “We believe it proves the value of VaporStream to healthcare providers. VaporStream can deliver what hospitals and healthcare providers don't have today, secure, private and confidential text communications. VaporStream is going to change the way we communicate and it's wonderful to see Gartner recognize our company as an innovative, intriguing and impactful vendor."

Unlike e-mail, which is “electronic documentation” VaporStream emails are safe, secure and intentionally not stored or documented - just like a verbal conversation. A VaporStream email conversation does not leave a residual message and vaporizes after it is read. VaporStream emails cannot be cc’ed, forwarded, saved or printed so the conversation remains with the respondents and avoids miscommunication since other people don’t see “just one part” of the conversation.

A VaporStream conversation uses 256 bit encryption, resides in RAM, and the head and body are separated in transit. VaporStream helps solves many of the most critical communication and collaboration needs of an organization - that are not being, and cannot be met by e-mail. First, it has most of the advantages of a verbal conversatiom - but is much more convenient. Second, it reduces the growing expense of e-mail. And, VaporStream minimizes the risk and high cost of miscommunication and litigation. VaporStream is not designed to eliminate e-mail, but to decrease the overall volume of e-

mail and its inherent cost, while fostering better, healthier internal conversations, and reducing the potential cost for litigation.

And it is proving to be impressive in many industries, such as healthcare. For accountability and quality of care in the medical profession, many communications within a hospital need to be captured and recorded, and become part of the medical record. However, it is also necessary to have email conversations that should be off the record and private to protect patient confidentiality. VaporStream is recordless and secure.

VaporStream operates in Software as a Service (SaaS) mode and integrates with Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes and all major mobile platforms like BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, iPhone, etc.
