AValonRF Presents it’s “No Moving Part” Tracking Antenna Receivers at AFCEA West 2005

The TA04, TA08 and TA16 are a family of passive tracking antenna systems designed for video links to/from moving platforms that are tuned to any frequency band in the spectrum from 300MHz to 2.5GHz. Higher frequencies are available using external up/down converters. Tuning is via a RS232 port or via a remote control.

The TA system selects the antenna that has the best reception automatically and provides direction indication.

They include an array of 4,8 or16 (CP or LP) high gain antennas, cables, one, two or four DX04 series receivers and a DX002 or DX004 baseband diversity selector

Advantages of the Tracking Antennas:

· Extends the range of UAV/UGV/USV links 6:1 to 128:1 with (versus OMNI directional antennas) no moving parts and without increasing transmitter power.

· Works on vehicles and small boats in motion. No need to stop.

· Eliminates the need for direction finding.

PerceptiVU's video Target Tracking technology is designed to track objects such as cars, boats, aircraft and people. The purpose is to zoom in and automatically follow the object of interest very closely to obtain high-resolution imagery of the object of interest.

Automated Motion Tracking software (AMT) is the latest software to be offered by PerceptiVU, when the system senses a target in motion within the fixed camera scene, a pan-tilt-zoom camera tracks the target as it moves within the scene. Cars/people in parking lots/public places, after-hours surveillance, perimeter security and defense, and port security.

XteQ, Inc. has partnered with AvalonRF and has developed a Windows CE.NET driver that interfaces the AValonRF TR430 radio to the newly released Viewsonic V38R industrialized PDA. The TR430 Driver provides an operating system interface by which applications running on the V38R can use the TR430 wireless transceiver. Included onboard the TR430 is a GPS receiver which permits the PDA user to determine their location, and with a suitable mapping application, the position of other V38R users.

Intel Atom-based Tactical Mission Computer Subsystem with MIL-STD-1553 Displayed by Parvus at AFCEA West

Optimally designed for Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP)-constrained military / aerospace vehicle and aircraft installations, the new DuraCOR 820-A small form-factor rugged processor delivers processing and multimedia performance comparable (or better) to Pentium M-based DuraCOR solutions, but with less power consumption, double the RAM memory capacity, and dual Flash Solid State Disks (SSDs). The system is equipped with a 28V high efficiency power supply compliant with MIL-STD-1275 and MIL-STD-704 voltages, spikes, and surges, which makes the unit compatible with not only airborne, but also military ground vehicle platforms. System I/O includes 1x Gigabit Ethernet, 1x MIL-STD-1553, 3x USB 2.0, 2x RS-232, 2x PS/2, 8 DIO, and VGA, which are brought out through lightweight, high-density MIL-38999-like connectors, making the product an ideal solution for a variety of unmanned and manned command and control (C2) applications.

The DuraCOR 820-A offers a compact mechanical design (~3lbs weight, ~ 3.0" height) very similar in form factor to flight-qualified legacy Parvus DuraCOR 820 systems currently deployed in unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) and other military applications. The unit is fanless, conduction cooled and designed for use under extended temperature (-40 to +71C) and other demanding MIL-STD-810F environmental conditions (thermal, shock, vibration, altitude, humidity). The new 820-A model offers enhanced ingress protection from dust and water immersion, along with improved filtering and shielding from EMI/EMC conditions. The system is designed to meet and will undergo MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-461E environmental and emissions/susceptibility qualification testing as it prepares for production.

For application flexibility, the unit comes with a 4GB industrial SSD pre-loaded with a Linux or Windows Embedded operating system, as well as a 16 GB Compact Flash disk for file storage. The unit is based on a modular PC/104-Plus open architecture, making it possible to customize/special order and meet program-specific I/O requirements. For programs requiring additional I/O expansion capabilities, Parvus offers the DuraCOR 810 and DuraCOR 810-Duo platforms, which feature up to 6x PC104(+) expansion slots.

AVAILABILITY

The DuraCOR 820-A is currently in pre-production. Official pricing is not yet available. MIL-STD qualification testing should begin later in Q1 2010 with production to follow.
