wondertouch to Exhibit particleIllusion Product Line at NAB 2007

Ballwin, MO (PRWEB) March 13, 2007

wondertouch™ LLC,, the award-winning developer of particle effects creation tools for the digital content creation industry, invites members of the press and convention attendees at NAB 2007 - April 16 through April19 - to stop by the wondertouch booth SL3827B (in the Plug-in Pavilion), where its particleIllusion™ software line will be on display.

Demand for wondertouch particleIllusion 3.0 from digital media content professionals continues to expand. Here is a recap of recent and upcoming company news highlights:

Pro Emitters:

In February, due to the popularity of the Professional Emitter Libraries (Pro Emitters) for particleIllusion 3.0 that the company released nearly a year ago, wondertouch released three new libraries in the collection. Each library contains 30 emitters that are thematically geared to providing sophisticated, ready-to-use, motion graphics style particle-based effects. Created by Tom Granberg, visual effects artist at Rainbow Studios and master of particleIllusion, these three libraries -"Graphics Elements 1", "Graphics Elements 2", and "Extreme Graphics" - contain some of the most original particle emitters developed to date. Additional information is available at:

Compatibility with Intel Macs:

wondertouch is about to release particleIllusion 3.0.5 for OS X; a free update. The 3.0.5 release is a Universal Binary version that runs natively on both Power PC and Intel Macs. particleIllusion 3.0.5 is optimized to run full-speed on Intel Macs - and about 10-20% faster than particleIllusion 3.0.4 on Power PC Macs. wondertouch is also updating pIllusionRender, the standalone renderer included with particleIllusion 3.0, which will support batch rendering - functionality that has already been available to users on the Windows platform. (Editors' note: At the time of this writing the product is scheduled for release at the end of this month.)

particleIllusion 3.0.2 for Windows:

Version 3.0.2 for Windows (a free update) will be released shortly. Besides including bug fixes, this release will provide enhanced movie file support.

particleIllusion 3.5:

The next major release of particleIllusion will be version 3.5. Available later this year, particleIllusion 3.5 will be a paid upgrade, and will include many new features that will make the application easier to use and more powerful.

pIllusion AE - the plug-in for Adobe After Effects:

wondertouch continues to work diligently on the development of a plug-in that will provide easy access to the powerful particleIllusion 3.0 software engine from directly within the Adobe® After Effects™ environment; hugely anticipated by the DCC professional community. The company is nearing completion of the plug-in and alpha testing/beta testing is expected to begin shortly.

At the wondertouch booth, the company will demonstrate the range of particle effects solutions for the production of TV programming, commercials, broadcast graphics and promos, feature films, film/game/television pre-visualization, interactive gaming, motion graphics, video production, and Web design.

particleIllusion 3.0 for Windows and Mac OSX:

The centerpiece of the wondertouch demonstrations will focus on particleIllusion 3.0, currently available on the Windows and Mac OS X platforms. Recent high profile entertainment projects that relied on particleIllusion include the "The 300," and upcoming theatrical films: "Blades of Glory," "Good Luck Chuck," and "Shooter;" The History Channel specials: "The Last Stand of the 300," "Engineering an Empire" and "Inside the Volcano;" the hit television series, "24;" televised sports graphics for major league team franchises including the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and much more.

Demo artists: Aharon Rabinowitz, Elvis Dean, Tom Granberg

wondertouch will be joined in the booth by two preeminent particleIllusion animators - Aharon Rabinowitz and Elvis Deane - who will demonstrate particleIllusion throughout the show. In addition, Tom Granberg is also expected to make a guest appearance to share content creation tips and tricks using the new Pro Emitter libraries that he created.

speakTECH works with Cadence Design Systems, Inc., to Migrate Popular Industry Web Portal to Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007

speakTECH, an interactive design and technology consulting services company

Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) January 29, 2009

speakTECH, an interactive design and technology consulting services company, today announced at the Microsoft Global High-Tech Summit the successful implementation and launch of Cadence Design Systems' popular high-tech electronics industry Web portal - The implementation is also detailed in a new Case Study published this week by Microsoft.

The "re-platforming" of the site also involved integrating, a previously standalone user group site for technical discussions on Cadence technologies, into the enhanced portal.

"When we initiated this project, there was plenty of Web 2.0 and social networking hype in the marketplace," said Adolph Hunter, vice president of Corporate Marketing at Cadence. "But our RoI goals for this investment were clearly identified from the beginning: We set out to create an enhanced environment where users can communicate and share best practices while also learning about what's new at Cadence. We also wanted to show prospective customers what a vibrant community of users they would join by choosing to purchase the products that they came to our Web site to learn about." The result, said Hunter, "Exceeded our expectations and clearly showcases Cadence's commitment to its core brand values of inventiveness and customer focus."

Cadence teamed with speakTECH, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, to build the new site by using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 as the underlying platform, while integrating Telligent Community Server to provide support for user discussion forums, blogs and more. "We sought to help Cadence maximize their packaged software investments by using off-the-shelf capabilities wherever possible and developing only what was necessary to achieve the goals of the project," said Aaron Sloman, president and CEO of speakTECH. "Our efforts focused on enabling a seamless and meticulously-branded experience for casual visitors and registered users across the Cadence Web properties, while establishing processes that would allow the Web team at Cadence to evolve and operate the site on their own moving forward."

speakTECH developed a user-registration and authentication process that is fully integrated with the company's global single sign-on and CRM systems. "It's very significant that we have built our social media, marketing communications, and user profiling functions in one platform," said Jim Price, group director of Web operations at Cadence. "Office SharePoint Server 2007 has given us content management, search, presentation, application functionality, and security and authentication capabilities on a single platform so that we can operate the Web site more effectively."

More than 36,000 people have registered at since the new site was launched, a process that continues with over 200 new registrations each day. Overall site traffic is up more than 10 percent, forum postings have increased 100 percent, and the average length of stay on the site has increased 20 percent.

The new demonstrates brand credibility through a commitment to innovation and customer focus. By providing customers the opportunity to engage with each other as well as Cadence employees via forums, blogs and other community building technology, Cadence is meeting its brand promise of being an indispensible partner to drive customer success.

"The new Cadence site exemplifies how Microsoft's technology and our partners can help establish a Web presence that strengthens a company's brand by delivering a superior experience and building a more vibrant, two-way conversation with customers," said Drew Gude, U.S. high-tech and electronics industry solutions director, Microsoft Corp.

Academy of Art University Students Win Awards at the Prestigious Space-Time Competition at SIGGRAPH 2007

Academy of Art University Students Win Awards at the Prestigious Space-Time Competition at SIGGRAPH 2007

San Francisco (PRWEB) July 1, 2007

Academy of Art University students from the digital arts school took home awards from the Space-Time Student Competition & Exhibition at SIGGRAPH 2007. Kyle Yugawa won first place for his project Verve and Molly Quan won one of the four Honorable Mentions for her project Hidden Symbols in Chinese Life and Thought both in the interactive category. This is the fourth year in a row that an Academy of Art University Graduate New Media student has taken the first place title at the Space-Time Competition.

Verve, Yugawa's MFA thesis, is a web tool that lets artists and musicians compose, orchestrate, and illustrate using sound, shape, and motion. According to the Verve website, the project "strives to mold techniques of painting/illustration, music, and kinetic performance into a single fluid process." It developed from his frustration as a new media designer to have to learn so many different applications and processes.

"SIGGRAPH is an international event with so much innovative projects being displayed, I was quite surprised and pleased to hear the news. It is great motivation to keep developing the project further," Yugawa said.

He found out about the competition through Lourdes Livingston, Director of Graduate School of Computer Arts: New Media.

"I think that its great that she encourages students to enter their work into these competitions because it helps the give the students and the school the recognition it deserves," he said.

Space-Time is an internationally juried competition for students working in computer graphics and digital arts.

The exhibition showcases the state of artistic computer-based student work in the categories of print, animation, and interactive works.

The competition is held within SIGGRAPH 2007, the 34th International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, being held August 5-9 at the San Diego Convention Center. The conference, convened by the ACM SIGGRAPH organization, is attended by tens of thousands of computer professionals.
