Eventstream to Live Stream the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon

Eventstream is pleased to announce that it will be providing the live webcast of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, which will be held Sunday, October 14th. Eventstream is collaborating with Canada Running Series to provide the web cast, which will begin at 8:15EST.

This will the first time the marathon will be streamed online with Eventstream webcasting the event, streaming it directly to the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront marathon website. Fans from around the world will be able to view the live webcast free of charge by logging onto

Were thrilled to be part of such an exciting athletic event, says Eventstream President Michael Dawson. Runners come from around the world to participate in the marathon with many of their supporters back at home, eagerly awaiting the results of the race. With the live webcast powered by Eventstream, fans can watch all the action from their computers, tablets and even their smartphones.

The live webcast will have Canadian Running Magazines Editor-in-Chief Mihira Laksman and reporter Michael Doyle providing commentary throughout the race. The tRANscend documentary filmmakers will be providing the camera work for the live stream, using five top-of-the-line digital camera equipment including RED cameras (used in a number of blockbuster films such as The Amazing Spiderman) and high-definition LTE cellular technology to transmit the footage from the cameras to the website. In addition to the live streaming of the race, viewers can also connect from the Marathon website to interact with Canadian Runnings blogger Scott Leitch until the completion of the race at 2:30pm.

The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon attracts athletes from over thirty countries, forty US states and runners from across Canada with the hopes of qualifying and winning the first place prize of $ 20,000 for the Open Marathon. Kenyan runners Charles Munyeki and John Kiprotich are looking to beat last years time of 2:07:58 by Kenneth Mungara who set a record for the fastest Canadian run. Ed Whitlock will also be competing, hoping to make age-record history in this prestigious race.

The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is IAAF and Athletic Canada Certified measured course, which provides competitors the opportunity to qualify for the Boston marathon, international and Olympic qualifiers. Runners will have the opportunity to run through Torontos downtown core and then along the shores of Lake Ontario, choosing a 5K, half marathon or full marathon.

About the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon

The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half-Marathon & 5k Run / Walk is organized by Canada Running Series Inc., organizers of the Canada Running Series, "A selection of Canada's best runs!"

Canada Running Series annually organizes eight events in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver that vary in distance from the 5k to the marathon.

The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon and Half-Marathon are fully sanctioned by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Road Races) and Athletics Canada. The 5k event is sanctioned by Athletics Canada. The marathon is a 2-year official Boston Marathon qualifier.
