EM-200 Mobile Computer with POS Base

(PRWEB) April 28, 2010

As consumers get used to instant information and service at the click of a mouse, and the continued economic pressures add to the need for efficiency, many businesses are looking for new technology to produce streamlined improved customer service.    The latest development in this field is an elegant touch screen system from a longtime POS supplier Partner Technologies. This specialized mobile computer allows staff to access the company information systems from anywhere on the company premises or even outside via a 3G link.

It enables employees to perform many tasks when they are actually serving customers instead of being forced to return to a fixed location to use computers. Hotel guest can now be checked in at the curb, restaurant orders can be instantly sent to the kitchen, and stock levels instantaneously checked or updated. What makes the product, called the EM-200, an even more effective tool are the amazing range of extras available. These can transform the unit allowing it to be used in many roles including in-store kiosk, advertising display and on-the-road POS. The EM-200 can even slot-in to a intelligent POS base giving small business the flexibility of having a mobile POS with quick access to full sized printers, cash drawers, and card readers.

“We created the EM-200 to meet the market needs for a flexible mobile POS, which would be compact and elegant enough to be used in front of customers, but was durable enough for the workplace. Our aim is to streamline data entry, smooth the transactions process, and improve customer service by eliminating the distance between employees and the company computer system. What’s been great is the positive feedback received from businesses that tested the EM-200 and the customers that experienced it”, said Partner Tech Sandra Hsia, Vice president of international sales and marketing.

The EM-200 system is based around a state-of-the-art Intel Atom PC with a 10.1" touch panel, 1 GB of RAM, VGA out, 3 USB ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a range of storage/expansion options. Slightly smaller than a magazine it has a protective splash and dust resistant bezel. Using open architecture it can run virtually any embedded or desktop operating system. The wide range of carefully designed extras include: A fully-specified slot-in intelligent POS base with a small footprint and customer display, a convenient charge base to keep the battery at maximum, an industry standard VESA mount, and a carry case with integrated MSR.
