Federal, State and Local Government Gets Involved with the Green IT and Cloud Computing Summit 2011!

Herndon, VA (PRWEB) April 13, 2011

The Green IT Council announced today that federal, state, and local governments plan to participate in the Green IT and Cloud Computing 2.0 Summit 2011. Jim Duffey, Secretary of Technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia will be a keynote speaker for the event. Wanda Gibson, CTO of Fairfax County Government will also be present for the event. The Federal, State & Local Government will address the dynamic federal state and local government technology market involving Green IT and Cloud Computing.

The Green IT Council serves as a collective voice for companies engaged in Green IT and Cloud Computing with public sector organizations other than national governments. As such, The Green IT Council offers a wide array of programs that allow members to engage with federal, state and local government officials -- and their national associations -- through committee meetings, Board meetings, private dinners, and widely attended events. We provide opportunities in all of our programs and policy work to partner private and public sector representatives in initiatives that foster the understanding and adoption of green technology products, services, and solutions.

In addition, there will be a myriad of Federal speakers from Dr. Warren Friedman, of the White House Council on Environmental Quality to Bajinder Singh, Senior IT Advisor to the General Services Administration, and Shyam Reddy, Regional Administrator also from the General Services Administration. From the Pentagon, we will have Don Erickson and Crystall Merlino, Director of Sustainability.
