Server Virtualization Radically Improved by uptime software, Including VMware ESX 3, IBM LPARs, and Solaris Containers

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) February 13, 2007

uptime will continue to delight its enterprise customers with powerful new virtualization and consolidation features today. uptime software, a software company since 2000, develops powerful enterprise IT performance, availability, and capacity management software in an all-in-one solution that helps increase the value of IT while drastically cutting Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for IT departments.

"Today marks a big shift for companies interested in, or proceeding with, virtualization and consolidation," describes Nick Johnson, Director of Marketing at uptime software. "The old management maxim says that you can't manage what you can't measure. Our industry leading solution now gives IT departments the ability to collect in-depth metrics and measurements on all virtual server instances, including VMware ESX 3, IBM LPARs, and Solaris Containers." On top of that, Johnson explains that these new features are free to customers, "once a customer purchases up.time with support, all downstream service packs and future releases of the product are absolutely free. We want up.time customers to be customers for life."

The newest release provides highly valued server monitoring and capacity management features for up.time customers, with a focus on consolidation and virtualization, including:

-VMware ESX 3: New and improved profiling, monitoring, and reporting for VMware ESX 3 - Virtual Infrastructure.

-VMware ESX 3: System alerting based on instances exceeding CPU, memory, % Ready, or disk busy for VMware ESX 3 - Virtual Infrastructure.

-VMware ESX 3: The ability to perform workload profiling across an ESX farm, helping you find the 'busy' levels of an instance is as it migrates between systems, including information on the total compute capacity of your ESX environment.

-AIX LPARs: Enhanced support for AIX LPARs. Use your HMC to inventory all managed LPARs and perform workload profiling of your LPARs within the physical pSeries systems. Graph your micro-partitioned CPU usage against entitlements to determine which LPARs are consuming too much resource.

-New Custom Alerting: New alerting formats allow you to send pager, email, or SMS-based alerts with specialized information about the services that need attention.

up.time is an enterprise-class server performance, availability monitoring, and capacity management solution for virtualized and physical servers that seamlessly works across platforms (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP/UX, Windows, Novell), across applications (WebSphere, WebLogic, Exchange, SAP, etc), and across databases (SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, etc). It's more affordable than most software maker's heavy, multi-component programs and is enabled through a friendly web browser interface, providing secure access at anytime and from anywhere.
