Dantel Inc. Releases Latest PointMaster Eagle, Communications Network Management System, with Added Features and Robustness

(PRWEB) January 5, 2005

Dantel, Inc., the leader in network surveillance and management systems, today announced the latest release of the PointMaster® Eagle, a communications network management system that provides concentration, management and reporting of network element events, as well as environmental alarm status for a variety of industries and applications. The new version of the PointMaster Eagle incorporates added features to ease installation and ongoing operations, and enhances the product’s robustness for operation in severe environments.

The PointMaster Eagle (NEBS level 3/UL certified) is designed to improve quality of service by intelligently collecting and reporting mission critical information for businesses including telecommunications, utilities, cable, industrial, wireless and internet service providers. The product detects events, converting and reporting the information into any one of several protocols and interfaces to any existing centralized network operation center (NOC) or Dantel’s VisionMaster Micro-NOC™ Management System. New attributes and features incorporated into the PointMaster Eagle include:

•    A streamlined installation process with minimal hook-ups and configuration, including an improved Ethernet connection allowing easier access and connectivity

•    Craft, Ethernet and Host ports exceed NEBS level 3 requirements for transient voltage protection (up to 1,500 volts).

•    An optional NV-RAM feature is available for customers who need to retain alarm data indefinitely in the unit

•    A flash memory holds data securely for decades, eliminating the need for batteries

•    Additional commands allow for viewing and clearing the alarm log at the administrators discretion

•    For those units equipped with modems, the adjustment port is larger and more robust

“This newest version of the PointMaster Eagle integrates valuable comments, feedback and suggestions from our user base and represents Dantel’s commitment to delivering high quality products that exceed customer requirements,” said Al Hutcheson, CEO of Dantel. “The added features in the PointMaster Eagle further establish this product as the premiere communications management system.”

In conjunction with the availability of the latest PointMaster Eagle are improvements to the product’s software that include NV-RAM configuration and usage software for the events log, date/time fix for the Web-browser alarm display, and SNMP and TL-1 protocol improvements. A free upgrade to PointMaster Eagle software version 1.8 is available from Dantel's Web site at
