Comic Book Artist Takes on Hollywood

Comic Book Artist Takes on Hollywood

Scranton, PA (PRWEB) May 22, 2006

Local artist Marc Graci is self-publishing a graphic novel collection of his acclaimed comic book series, Unholy Halfbreed. He will celebrate the release of “Le Agonie D’ Rhino: The Definitive Unholy Halfbreed Collection” with signings at comic shops, and through appearances at conventions.

The graphic novel collects the 2002 Unholy Halfbreed comic book series and includes some never before published stories and pinups. “I got a lot of request from fans to put together the complete collection,” Graci said. “Unholy Halfbreed represents a period of great growth in my artistic life, and I think that readers can witness that evolution.”

Subject to controversy ever since its inception in April 2002, the comic has acquired a loyal local fan base. The premise: during the filming of his movie ‘Jumanji,’ actor Robyn Williams raped a rhinoceros co-star. Fearing public disgrace, Robyn murdered the rhino…but not before the birth of his bastard child: Rhinoboy, the Unholy Halfbreed. Now, Rhinoboy hunts his estranged father to exact vengeance for the murder of his mother. It’s a tale of one rhino’s quest for revenge and the resulting downfall of one of America’s most beloved cultural icons.

From the very start, Graci has been adamant about maintaining creative control of his property. He handles all the artistic end of things, and relies on a strong network of contacts to help promote and sell his book. “Comic book store owners have been really good to me, allowing me to place my product or advertise or hold book signings.”

The book is currently available at http://www.lulu.com/twistedart for $ 10. Marc Graci will be signing copies of the book at The Unknown, on Adams Avenue in Scranton, on Saturday, June 17th from 1-3PM.

For a review copy of the book or to arrange for an interview, please contact Mr. Graci.
