Argea's CEO to Speak at 16th Annual Partnerships with CROs Conference in Orlando

Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) April 5, 2007

Argea, a management consulting firm, specializing in intelligent global sourcing and process optimization, announced today that its Founder and CEO, Ram Iyer, will address attendees at the 16th Annual Partnerships with CROs Conference on April 11, 2007, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort Spa and Golf Course in Orlando, Florida. Iyer, will co-present with David Barnes, VP of Finance at Roche Diagnostics, as part of the track, "Optimizing Outsourcing Contracts, Budgets, and Processes." Iyer will discuss the key business necessity of moving toward a mature strategic global sourcing model for acquisition of outsourced services encompassing advanced, best-of breed business capabilities and away from the standard procurement models grounded in contractual obligations.

Iyer said, "Traditional procurement models built on maintaining control of providers using service level agreements and legal penalties, suppress a working relationship that must evolve overtime to jointly drive business value to the organization. Relationships between companies and their outsourcing providers require flexibility for continuous quality improvement, in addition to strong performance metrics, to succeed in today's ever changing global market place. Argea wishes to change this traditional thinking toward establishing a Strategic Global Sourcing Model grounded in not only procurement, supply chain and legal skills, but the skills needed for real business collaboration, continuous service quality improvement and change management."

Iyer, a thought leader on intelligent sourcing in the mid-market, writes a monthly column for Outsourcing Venture Magazine, and has written and spoken extensively on global sourcing in various forums. In addition, he has built an extensive knowledge network of senior executives in the global pharmaceutical industry and intensively researches emergent business issues and outsourcing trends in this sector to understand the future business challenges and needs of these companies.

At the conference, Iyer's presentation, "Contract Management: A Core Competence?" will stress that companies need to structure, manage, change and evolve relationships toward greater capability and that mid-size pharmaceutical companies have a golden opportunity to adopt such a model for improved business advantage in a period of increasing global competition. He will emphasize the need for strategic sourcing competency centers as means of achieving faster time-to-benefit in outsourced delivery of enterprise business services and technology services.
