Virtual Computer Inc., the company redefining PC lifecycle management through virtualization, today announced its NxTop solution has been selected as a finalist for the MassNetComms Awards in the category of Cloud Computing, Virtualization and Data Warehousing/Storage Product of the Year for 2008. The award delivered by the Massachusetts Network Communications Council (MassNetComms), recognizes innovation in new products that were developed in Massachusetts.

The product of the year awards and others will be presented at the MassNetComms Annual Awards Ceremony on April 14, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Cambridge, MA.

"It's a great honor for Virtual Computer's NxTop be considered as the product of the year by MassNetComms at such an early juncture in our company's history," said Dan McCall, president and CEO of Virtual Computer. "The response to NxTop has been overwhelming. Simply being nominated for this award is further validation of our vision for a new era in personal computing."

"Our new categories for Company and Product of the Year reflect exciting growth and innovation in the Massachusetts region," said Barry Fougere, partner at Heidrick and Struggles and chairman of the nominating committee. "Virtual Computer's NxTop is a new product that reflects the pioneering spirit and vibrancy of this marketplace."

NxTop, Virtual Computer's next-generation PC management platform, makes it as easy to manage a thousand PCs as it is to manage one, dramatically reducing PC management costs while improving PC reliability, security and the end-user experience. NxTop isolates the PC's critical components -- hardware, operating system, applications, and user data -- allowing each to be managed independently in a highly-scalable fashion without a persistent network connection.
