New Website Promotes a Balanced Life for IT Pros

New Website Promotes a Balanced Life for IT Pros

(PRWEB) April 13, 2005

Roy Hoobler and Connect Computing Inc have opened a sister website, SuccessForTech.com which focuses not only on providing technical tips and reviews for IT people but also on providing personal development and providing support. They are currently looking for success stories from small and medium IT shops or ISPs. Success For Tech is offering a free newsletter to push little "gems" out to people who sign up.

"For many programmers and project managers, their life is constantly full of stress from working on projects that are on the edge of failure. When the projects do get finished but these same persons don't feel as good as they should about it.", stated Roy Hoobler, President of Connect Computing Inc.

Success For Tech will help bridge some gaps in organizations as well. There is help for managers to be more technical as well as help for the technical staff to understand leadership and management styles. Success For Tech hopes to collect stories from successful people so others can learn and implement similar techniques. Roy also said, "I believe a lot of it is the environment and attitude of the team. Many organizations think implementing processes or changing their environment take a big investment. SuccessForTech.com will show how even minor changes in they way people perform can make a big difference.

Success For Tech, being hosted by Connect Computing Inc, also focuses on using Open Source technologies. Connect Computing believes that people should consider the software they are using carefully, not just relying on vendor's sales pitches. "SuccessForTech was created in a few days with Mambo Server, an open source platform. At first, we tried PostNuke (another program) but had some problems deploying it. This is a classic example of how Open Source can provide options for people - not being locked-in really helps. It ended up that Mambo was a better program for what I wanted to do.", said Roy.

Success For Tech will not promote one method when it comes to project management methods. However, they are hoping to show other people a variety of methods and more importantly, how people used them to be successful.

SuccessForTech has a bi-weekly newsletter, links to other sites for more information, a sponsor section, reviews, and RSS feeds.
