Computing Options Announces 5 Major Wins, Adds Employees

FREDERICK, MD (PRWEB) October 10, 2004

Computing Options, operating as Computing Options Company, Inc., headquartered in Frederick, announced today that 5 colleges have recently selected Computing Options’ Regent 4 Administration Software for managing the administration function of their college. Those colleges are: Garrett College in Oakland Maryland, Feather River College in Quincy, California, Gavilan Joint Community College District in Gilroy, California, Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey California and Stark State College in Canton Ohio. The additional business has required the hiring of additional employees to assist with development, integration and implementation of the software to the clients’ existing systems. Computing Options’ total headcount is now at 35, up from 15 just a year ago. The company is in the midst of transforming their 25 year-old software solutions to a modern, easy to use, 100% web-based and platform independent version which costs less than half the price of their competitor’s solutions for higher education customers.

The Regent 4 Administrative Suite consists of modules for Financial Aid Management, Student Information System, Finance and General Ledger, Human Resources and Payroll. The mentioned clients will be using the Regent 4 software to streamline their administration departments, make student self-service options more available and will be implemented over the next 3 to 9 months.

“These clients began their evaluation of our solution and competitive solutions up to 3 years ago and we are very excited to have been selected by them to have the Regent 4 solution chosen to help them manage the most critical systems of their operations,” said Bryan Chaney, Vice President of Sales for Computing Options. “These wins validate our assumption that we have the best, most affordable Administrative Software solution available for higher education clients. We anticipate more wins the near future, and possibly more employees too, “ says Chaney.

“Our Regent 4 Financial Aid Management Software is a category leader in the market and has ignited our sales growth. Except for Financial Aid, which we market to all of higher education, our sweet spot in higher education is the small college market. There is a major innovation gap in the market for affordable administrative software for some 2000 colleges in the U.S. who don’t have the resources to support multi-million dollar ERP deployments. We fill that gap”, said Michael Ratti, President of Computing Options.
