Harlem, NY - Popular Harlem restaurant Amy Ruth's Home-style Southern Cuisine Restaurant and R.A.M Inc announced their plans to celebrate Black History Month with an "Intimate Dinner and Dialogue" series with special spoken word performances. Starting on February 5th at 6PM, Rev. Al Sharpton will kick off the series with community residents in a rare opportunity to discuss personal issues and will be highlighted by some of the nation's best

spoken word artists at this ticketed event. Amy Ruth's Home-Style Southern Cuisine Restaurant is located at 113 West 116th Street between Lenox Avenue and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd.

Other speakers to be featured during the month include: Rev. Calvin Butts,

Rev. Dr. Waytt Tee Walker, legendary actress Ruby Dee, Isaac Hayes, Percy

Sutton, Toni Faye of Time Warner Inc. and Attorney Elaine Jones, president of NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Spoken word artists include: Storyteller Oni Lasana, Abiodun Oyewole of the Last Poets, Flowmentalz, actor/playright Benu, Former National Slam Champion-Kayo, Award winning poet - Napalm,

spoken word recording artist - BoogieMan, actress/poet Ihsan Muhammad and Lamar Hill, winner of Def Poetry Jam (Philadelphia). Poets appear courtesy of R.A.M Inc.

Amy Ruth's Restaurant was established in 1999 by Rev. Sharpton's former Chief of Staff, Carl Redding and grew in popularity in record breaking time. Patroned by notables such as, Former President Clinton's Chief of Staff George Stephanopolis, Roca-fella Records, CEO, Damon Dash, R & B recording artists Stephanie Mills and Ashford & Simpson.
